The Aeroplane & Armament Experimental Establishment's lovely De Havilland Comet 4, XS235 'Canopus' performing her very last display at RIAT, RAF Fairford on the 31st July 1994.

Shortly after she was delivered to Bruntingthorpe where she now resides and is kept active, performing fast-taxi runs on their 'Cold War jets' days.

Always worth going if you get the chance!

Exhausted passengers at Frankfurt airport (Germany). The scene was behind me, my wife made me notice it. Taken with a Canon Eos 10s and a Canon zoom EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 (not with a Nikon, as said in the additional information. The scanner I used is a Nikon).

First flown with the Boeing test registration N1787B, this aircraft was delivered to GATX B737-800 Partners BV and leased to Novair Sweden as SE-DVR in Apr-99.

It was returned to the lessor in Apr-04 and immediately leased to SunExpress Airlines as TC-SUM. The aircraft was fitted with blended winglets in May-05.

It returned to the lessor in May-16 and was leased to Blue Air (Romania) as YR-BMD later the same month. The aircraft was sub-leased to TUI Airlines Netherlands in Jun-16 and returned to Blue Air at the end of Oct-16.

It was ferried to Tucson, AZ, USA at the end of Dec-19 and stored. It was sold to the Boeing Capital Corporation as N748BC in Jan-20 and remained stored at Tucson.

It was sold to GA Telesis in Sep-20 and re-registered N288LR in Nov-20. It continued in storage at Tucson until it was ferried to Miami, FL, USA in Jan-21 to await freighter conversion.

The aircraft was converted to full freighter configuration in Jul-21 and ferried to Dothan, AL, USA for painting. It was due to be leased to Mesa Airlines and operated on behalf of DHL Aviation but the lease and sub-lease was cancelled.

In Aug-21 it was leased to Compass Cargo Airlines, Bulgaria as LZ-CXA and continues in service. Updated 10-Feb-25.

This is arguably the most random and obscure piece of electronic equipment I own: An industrial-strength 10-jet ultrasonic mist generator which runs on 48 volts, at 4.8 amps.

What you're seeing here is the slow-motion powering up of the device, followed by real-time operation - and finally, a stock pot + fan combination.

Each "jet" (element) is a piezoelectric speaker with a ceramic disc not unlike those found in a traditional humidifier, and outputs a strong ~1.7 MHz to break up water molecules - turning them into a mist, or fog.

On a day like today where it was 30°C (~86°F) in SF, this was a nice way to help cool things down (last scene with a PC case fan and a stock pot.) To really do this right, I need a stronger fan.
