Honestly, I wasn't going to upload this, but then someone I follow posted a song that I enjoyed and one thing lead to another and I ended up with a tune that brought me back to the keyboard again and another "portrait". But it's mostly about the idea behind the tune.

Moths
Oh to be a moth,
To fly away from all the pain,
Eat thread from a cloth.
Thrive at night,
And during the day,
Out of sight.
Maybe that's what I am,
Attracted to false lights,
Fluttering around through Amsterdam.
So small,
So quiet,
Before I fall.
Maybe being a moth isn't so great,
While I know I'll live for some time,
Moths don't have such a similar fate.
They're all around us,
Staying still, not moving an inch,
Because we make such a fuss.
Maybe we're all moths,
Easily killed,
Easily forgotten,
Easily lost.
Maybe we're all wishing the same thing,
To leave our agony, our fear, our insecurity,
To become Butterflies,
But it'll still sting.
We strive to be more beautiful, more appealing, more wanted,
And it'll slowly destroy us,
Eating away,
Until we're haunted.
Maybe once we realize,
That moths aren't so bad,
We'll learn to live,
And stop our demise.
But so long as we're attracted to fake lights,
We'll die.

The religious are fond of the saying, "With God all things are possible." At first one might think of this as an affirmation of good. But really it rings more true on a grander scale. Things like child rape by relidious leaders, perverts and charlatans taking over governments and countries, deviants carrying guns and some who like to shoot people just for the fun of it. So indeed, with God all things are possible. And just as many of those things are bad as are good.
One more observation about religion, is that as its influence has wained in the U.S. the remaining proponents have become more and more vociferous and militant in an attempt to counter their loss in numbers.
Interesting that this image has sparked debates about it's vs. its and blasphemy vs. sodomy. Our advice is to consult a grammar guide and a dictionary, come to some conclusion, and shut up. Otherwise, enjoy the image and be inspired.

The advertisement, received courtesy of the US Postal Service, is for a touring loony fundamentalist Born Again Pastor. The church inviting him claims that "his biblical teaching is down to Earth". And that he will take people attending to "an exciting multi-media adventure in bible prophecy".
This one week crash course in the book of revelations will include the following topics: " greatest surprise, end of time, peace maker, answer for society's crumbling values, eternal signs, deadly delusions, source of spiritual power, world of tomorrow."
What a spiritual feast! Surely against some financial contributions from attendees.
The statement on this man's baseball cap illustrates better than a 10,000 words essay the symbiotic relationship between MAGA followers and Evangelical Christians. This nexus of fundamentalist faith and ideology of exclusion based on race and American exceptionalism is extremely toxic.
Trumpism core ideological base is Christian Nationalism. Two issues will drive them to the polls: guns & fetuses as they are pro-gun and anti-abortion.

This Trump supporter ( see sticker) generously gives away his entire profile as gun rights activist (likely NRA member) and Evangelical Born Again Christian. As if the power of Jesus & blazing guns were compatible.
Trump Nation is a very illogical place.
