HOMELESS JESUS WAS CREATED BY CANADIAN TIMOTHY SCHMALZ (CIRCA 2013). TODAY THERE ARE WELL OVER ONE HUNDRED OF THESE SCULPTURES IN LOCATIONS WORLDWIDE. THE POPE HAS BLESSED MORE THAN ONE.
Matthew 28:1-7
New International Version
Jesus Has Risen
1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
“When Jesus appeared before the procurator, Pilate asked Him: "Are you the King of the Jews?" To which Jesus replied: “Yes, it is I. But you said it yourself."
And when the chief priests and elders began to accuse Jesus before Pilate, He did not say a word.
Then Pilate asked Him again: "Don't You hear all these accusations against You?".
But Jesus did not answer any of the accusations. And this greatly surprised Pilate."
It is interesting that the fresco was not called "Pilate's Trial", but "Bringing the Lord to Trial". Jesus is depicted standing before Pilate in a long white rag, over which is thrown a scarlet royal cloak - the garment in which Herod, who was judging him, mockingly dressed him before returning him to Pilate's trial. Below this fresco, in a medallion, is depicted the event of the same day preceding the arrest - "The Kiss of Judas", where Jesus is in a green cloak. Jesus was tried several times that day, and the title of the fresco "Bringing the Lord to Trial" without indicating Pilate's name is involuntarily misleading.
Homeless Jesus - Tim Schmalz's "Frozen Sermon"
A new Homeless Jesus sculpture, presented to the people of Dublin by an anonymous North American benefactor, has been unveiled by the sculptor in the grounds of Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin. Some people love the Banksy feel of it,but others consider it an insult to the figure of Jesus.
The bronze sculpture depicts a park bench with a faceless cloaked figure lying on it. Passers–by realise that the sculpture depicts Jesus only when they notice the holes in the feet. The piece is located in front of the cathedral in full view of the public. and leaves enough room on the bench for someone else to sit down. It's a representation that suggests Christ is with the most marginalized in today's societies.
The first statue was inspired by a sideways glance at a homeless person on a bench in Toronto. The sculptor said that he wanted to get the message out, especially to churches that might want to put this visual prayer outside their church to remind people that human life is sacred.
Casts of the Homeless Jesus sculpture have been installed in cities in N.America,Canada and Europe. Following a competition among prospective Dublin sites,Christ Church Cathedral was chosen to be the location by Tim Schmalz.
At some places in US & Canada people leave gifts for the homeless around the sculpture that are picked up by the homeless or, at the end of the day, collected and given to the shelters.
Church of Ireland Archibishop of Dublin Dr Michael Jackson said that throughout the world of today human beings are subjected to indignity, homelessness, trafficking and death. Every day for them is a Good Friday. They wait for the day of resurrection in hope,in fear, in trust and in betrayal,in darkness and in light.Homeless people draw us into their world, and rightly; we dare not abandon them here or abroad.
The Homeless Jesus is a reminder to the entire community of this city,Catholics and Protestants, people of Faith and people of None. There are people who cannot find a suitable roof over their head and families without a place where they can live with dignity, then none of us can roll over in our comfortable beds with an easy conscience ...
PS: Homeless Jesus' sculpture was banned from central London according to Westminster Council decision. They said it would fail to maintain or improve the character or appearance of the Westminster Abbey and Parliament Square conservation area ... Think about the irony of Jesus the Homeless being Homeless himself , in London ...

In 033 the Roman soldiers crucified citizen Galilei named Jesus of Nazareth. It was the greatest philosopher and then murder them wrong. In 1972, Jesus came to Central Communist Europe. Here! He built a house here. He lives here, wondering what people are pigs in this country. Checks devil in the nearby village Budíkovice. There he spits and screams, rattling chains! So shall it be until the end of the world !!!

D. Jesús Otero Oreña left his legacy to his native town, you can see it in the Museum and Foundation that bears his name located next to the Collegiate Church of Santa Juliana in Santillana del Mar.
This museum, inaugurated in 1994, is nourished by private funds donated by the author to the town in 1993.
It is a total of fifty sculptures, many of which were made in the last years of the author's life, to which we must add utensils, tools and drawings used in his creation.

"JESUS"...BOA NOITE,
"Querido mestre, dá-me outra folha nova, nesta só fiz borrão."
No lugar da primeira tão suja, tão manchada,
Deu-me outra limpa imaculada.

"JESUS"...GOOD NIGHT,
NEW YEAR'S PRAYER:
At my table, with trembling lips, was made the lesson.
"Dear Master, give me another new leaf, this just did blur."
In the first place so dirty, so stained,
He gave me another clean immaculate.
And in His sad eyes I saw a shiny new,
"Do better now, more carefully my son"- said the Master.
With heart devout seen over the years old
Errors, sins, negligence and malice.
Forgiven and forgotten by His great kindness.
"My son wanted to make a new purpose
Come walk with me every day of the new year! "
For my Dear Friends, kisses in your hearts with very affection!!

"JESUS" ... BONNE NUIT
NEW YEAR'S PRAYER:
Avec cœur dévot roulé depuis l'an
Erreurs, fautes, négligences et de malveillance.
Pardonné et oublié par sa grande bonté.
"Mon fils voulait faire un nouveau but

Me dio otro limpio inmaculado.

In primo luogo così sporco, così macchiato,
Errori, peccati, negligenza e malizia.

I captured this very gripping statue image of Jesus Christ just outside the entrance into the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.
I was very moved when I viewed this statue, and when I walked into the memorial area.
The statue depicts how Christ must have felt after the bomb went off and took so many lives, including women and children!

the Jesus workers chant on the side of Main Street
and I watch them at a red light through my dusty windshield
in the weird January heat - oh, I bet they bet it's hellfire
I bet they bet that betting's wrong, that the way we tangled
yesterday is wrong and the way I take my wine is wrong
but I feel fine and turn up the music and, distracted,
take a picture of a toddler who is shorter than his sign,
which says prepare to meet thy God, and I wonder
what got these people thinking they haven't met God yet
his wounds dont heal
he bleeds as each time
from his loved ones
moments of happiness
they rob and steal
sodomizing his children
raping his children
hurting him more
than they feel
omerta code of silence
a mute appeal
he was the shepherd
he has lost his sheep
to whom it matters
no big deal
life goes on
spirituality
hijacked by a wheel
within a wheel
with the victims
power brokers
will cut a new deal
a price to be paid
to conceal
abrasions on the flesh
tears on the soul
of humanity

of a papal seal
