This young man gave Jess a really hard time, until she discovered she had teeth!!
He taught her alot about how dogs play, the rough way. Then she started holding her own! This pic is towards the end of their play session, he ended up giving her a fair bit of respect once she started standing up for herself, and she learnt alot from him.
The next time she played with male dogs she actually growled at them when they did something she didn't like. Red boy in the picture had taught her the hard way that she doesn't have to just take punishment from other animals - probably a throwback from being attacked during her fits in her previous homes.
I really don't think she was even walked before I got her at 1&1/2 years old. She had no muscle tone & still to this day can't walk straight on a lead. I taught her heel many months ago, but it's begrudging. So wish I had her as a puppy to train right from the start! She'd be so much more well adjusted & less fearful.
Jess and Brant have been married for two years, but spent the majority of their first year apart since Brant was in the Army and stationed in Iraq. Brant has finished up his four years in the Army and is in the Air National Guard. They are expecting their first child and it is due in January.
