I just have not posted any images of Jess lately, so here you go.

This image had everything wrong you could imagine, but I was shooting in RAW so it was not a loss. I was taking a picture of an x-ray and Jess came along to check it out. She is lit from beneath by the fluorescent x-ray viewer, for which I had the WB set to 6750°K. She is also lit in her face from the window that she is looking out. I was in "P" mode, because it doesn't matter for x-rays, so the camera selected 1/15 sec. I was not holding expecially still, so you can see the little squiggles at the end of each hair. They look like miniature seagulls flying. Her whiskers are a double image, also.

Anyhow, I was able to correct the color and exposure easily in Camera RAW and this is the result. She is watching Gloria put some suet out for the birds, so she is very interested in the procedings.

This hat of AWESOME was a group project for Jess - since she hasn't been able to knit for most of this year (due to repetitive stress) she couldn't participate in the hat swap. I knit this hat (Ysolda's Urchin - a great, fun pattern!) with Laura, and the compound folks contributed pom poms for the top - Sarah added them on to the hat! It was a super-silly group project - and wouldn't you know that Jess even looks adorable in a pom pom hat? :)

I wish I had a less blurry photo! Still cute, though.
