One of my favourite buildings in Edinburgh. Playing about with Orton, think that's why it looks over exposed slightly.
Lit up red for World Aids Day.
Jenners department store was built Princes Street in 1838 when it was founded by Charles Jenner and Charles Kennington and known as "Kennington & Jenner". The original buildings were destroyed by fire in 1892, and in 1893 William Hamilton Beattie designed the new store which subsequently opened in 1895. The building's caryatids were intended 'to show symbolically that women are the support of the house'.
