This photo is taken very close to the point where the Russian River empties into the Pacific Ocean. It's bright and sunny a short distance from here, but Jenner and the Sonoma County coast are almost always in the fog.
This photograph was used by the Sonoma Land Trust for their 2009 Holiday Card. The light was flat, but they asked me to create a photograph for their annual card during a staff hike on their newly acquired Jenner Headlands property and I worked with what I had. When they added graphics and increased the saturation a little, the card looked pretty cool (although I may be biased).
