Jelling DK
Markers of the former palisades of the Jelling Mounds site.
Within are located several erected monuments including a pair of enormous pagan grave mounds, which are the largest in Denmark and have been build by Gorm and his son, Harald Bluetooth. Gorm was buried in the larger one, although the second one is not thought to have been used.
There are also two runic stones at Jelling, the larger one thought to have been built by Harald and the smaller by Gorm before him. The runic stones known as the Jelling Stones stand before Jelling Church or ‘Jelling Kirke’ which dates back to around 1100.
Jelling Kirke was the third such church to have been built on the site, a former wooden version having been built by Harald who converted to Christianity. This conversion is also evidenced by a figure of Jesus on one of the stones.

Cargo ship Brufjell sailing down the River Thames and passing Tilbury B power station.
Shot 6 April 2017 and uploaded 15 June 2022, when Brufjell is named Wagon B and sailing from Nemrut, Turkiye, to Cardiff.
We joined our good friends from Kelowna when they went to the Vancouver Aquarium last week. This was part of my 2 day working vacation :). This particular tank was lit to have a blue background to showcase the jelly fishes. This is SOOC by the way and I shot in Tv to set the shutter speed to 1/125 as the jelly fishes constantly move. The camera chose f/1.6 almost 90% of the time but for this shot it chose f/1.4 and also chose ISO 400. I'm happy with the turn out.
**Edit** My original post had a silhouette of another jelly fish in the bottom right frame. I was annoyed by it so I cloned it. I guess it's no longer SOOC :).
In a sense this photo is the bridge between the two previous ones
Jelling is a significant place for Danish history (equivalent to Iona and Lindisfarne in national cultural significance) becasue it was where the Danish king first accepted Christianity as the state religion in 936 AD. No more of Odin, Loki or Thor after that.
The king was Gorm the Old, also called Gorm the Languid.(Not to be confused with Gorm the Less)
