Finally I feel comfortable the transplant worked, after 9 years this seedling replaced the Mother plant after the tree died,
On this photo shows the color in Autumn,
It gets its name from the red.

What's wrong with this picture? Bright red maple leaves being loaded down with four inches of heavy white snow. Mother Nature, could you at least wait till the leaves fall off the trees before dumping all this white stuff?
... but I dream of autumn !

HBW !
Delightful rain on today's walk. I think these leaves are on a Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum). Love those hues. (Only cyan boosted. Just experimenting.)
Hope this pleases you as much as the rain did for me. You didn't have to protect your camera and new-ish lens, either.
Or did rain find you? I'm hoping enough rain fell to suppress the forest fires that surround the Pacific Northwest, including Canada just north of us.
Comments not necessary ;)
I love my Japanese maple because it has color all year round...this is spring foliage in full sun, mimicking the beautiful deeper red of the autumn color.
There was a break in the rain so we made a quick trip to Kubota Garden to see if there was any autumn color in the maples. This is an enormous Japanese maple which I try to shoot every year. This year, it still had a lot of somewhat green leaves even though some leaves had turned red and fallen. The weather this year was unusually hot and dry for over 90 days. Now the rains have started. So our fall color this year is not very colorful.
View from our Kitchen window still as colorful as this 10 days later,
Things got much more intense in color, far in the back you can see the roses still blooming.
Autumn gets a rude awakening as winter's snow descends before the leaves are even done falling from the trees. Thankfully, my snow shovelling guy is still in business!
... for a Happy Sunday !

Patience rewarded...waiting a few weeks for my Japanese maple to finish it's fall wardrobe...now a glorious symphony of reds
I visited the Kubota Garden to see if the maple trees were wearing autumn colors. Not yet. My favorite maple was still largely green.
Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!
