It had been raining for awhile and on the day I took this one, the sun came out for a bit in the morning, so I ran out to the yard. Our Japanese Maple has lost most of its leaves, but the seedpods are still hanging on. Here, there were still some red leaves, which is what creates the red bokeh.
The old Japanese Maple at the Seattle Japanese Garden always puts on a tremendous show in the fall.
It is certainly one of the highlights in the Garden.

We've been having cold but sunny weather lately. (By cold, I mean just below freezing during the night, and just above during the day). Looking out the window when I got up, the morning light was shining through our Japanese Maple tree, making the dew drops sparkle on what was left of the leaves.
I'm going to be on and off in the next while - so much going on right now, but it's all good :) Sorry if I don't have time to comment every day....
Happy Friday, and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
A mix of a couple of previously uploaded shots, layered together, which wasn’t quite what I was intending but rather liked this result.
HSS!
Some beautiful colors from one of our maple trees,
I only wanted sometime off and I skipped the whole Autumn season
While walking the grounds of Victoria's Hatley Castle I spied this beautiful Japanese maple with the sun backlighting it nicely.
Love the varied twisted, contorted branches and the mixed autumn colors the backlighting highlights so well.
Thanks for taking a look and for any comments, faves and suggestions!
