I got the two hardest sets to find today. Very excited about these guys. Lets hope me basically spending 20 dollars on a Rhino fig pays off...
The man and I went to St. Augustine this past weekend with one of my favorite couples -- Glenn and Becky -- in the world. We spent the day walking around Old Town St. Augustine and all around the fort.
We talked. We laughed. We ate. We took pictures.
Becky is as much a shutterbug as I am. It is always fun when I am not the only one smitten with photography.
Comments always appreciated, as long as you keep it clean - I love to hear your feedback! xx
Saturday we went to the Feguson Fawsitt pub in Walkington for dinner. WE both went for the chicken and bacon pie. Wow, what a choice - that may well be the best pie I have ever tasted!
Than on the evening we went out on Prince's Avenue for a few drinks.

Same dress, different evening. I took a lot more pictures this night, it seems!
Julia has made several comments about being nervous about her upcoming ballet, jazz and tap recital -- which is in April. Despite the reassurances and the extra lessons to catch her up with her classmates who have been dancing together since they were 3 or 4, she has continued to express worry over remembering the routine... the steps... the turns...
Today, the class invited the parents in to watch the jazz routine. Julia was so focused on her routine that she seemed to barely notice all the adults in the room. The girls did great but I don't think any were as excited while simultaneously being relieved as Julia was.
She looked as if she had been dancing with these girls all along. The look of satisfaction in her face lets me know that she is secure in at least one of the dance routines coming up in April. We have plenty of time to practice and learn the others.
Please excuse this photo from last night. But on the subway ride to Justin's drinkathon, I saw a girl with these hand-made sneakers and I thought they were cool. I almost asked her if I could take pictures of them, but we were on the subway and it seemed weird. I'm sure pulling out my 200mm lens and pointing it at her feet, rapidly firing off twenty shots desperately hoping one would be in focus, was much more subtle.
Today was cold and underwhelming, and it felt as though I spent a lot of it under blankets. It was one of those days. You know, the kind where you try to get out to see an apartment downtown but never make it. You talk to your boss on the phone for an hour. You try to do some editing and fall asleep with the dog. You get into a fight with your wife and then make-up. You get quarters for the dryer and end up putting in $1.25 too much because the damn machine doesn't work the way it's supposed to and no one at the laundromat seems to speak English. You watch The Girls Next Door, two episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8, an episode of Top Gear and start wishing you had a Bugatti, even though you don't know anything about cars, not even really how to spell Bugatti. And then it's 4:01 in the morning and you're freaking out trying to take a picture of something for your stupid one-a-day photoblog and you end up taking bad pictures of yourself in thermal underwear on your iPhone before coming to your senses and just posting something from yesterday. One of those days.
Undramatic day.
Leads to undramatic night.
Time for Act III: Sleep.
