Finding a Parasitic Jaeger (Stercorarius parasiticus) resting on the shore was rare treat. It usually winters much farther off the coast, harassing other birds to give up their meals far from the sight of the shore.

The interior nesting Long-tailed Jaeger was near the top of the list for our most sought after bird. We saw several and never tired of scanning for this little white dot hiding in the tundra.
