This hand-held shot benefited from combining light from the visible and infrared spectrum. My camera has been adapted to be sensitive to both types of light; filters are used to limit the image to either infrared or visible light. In this case, I left all filters off to pick up a little more light and ended up with an interesting look.

This 50’ mural on the corrugated siding of Jackson’s Fish Market in Port Stanley, ON, depicts the rescue of the crew of an American schooner by a Canadian crew on October 29th, 1902, earning the Canadians gold medals, awarded by then President, Theodore Roosevelt.
The mural tells the story the dramatic rescue of a sinking ship called the Mineral State. In 1902, the 140’ schooner was floundering. At dusk, crowds in Port Stanley watched as a tiny lifeboat rescued the 6-man schooner crew and brought them safely into Port Stanley harbour.
The corrugated siding gives the mural a 3D appearance. Although it has been retouched, it was painted by Artist Fred Harrison.
The Leica Q2M continues to impress.

Picture taken at the yard of Jacksons Fencing in Ashford Kent. This was a stack of fence posts that I've done a bit of work on!
Jackson Lake Reservoir with Mt. Woodring and the more famous Mt. Moran in the background. The water level of the lake is lowered each spring to allow for the projected snow melt.

So, before I moved upstairs to isolate from myself from my family as I have to continue to work during this pandemic. I prepared a few hand boiled eggs to keep in my fridge. I am not used to the temperature of the fridge and ended up freezing some of them. Frozen egg is terrible. The boredom of being isolated and there is only so much tv to watch so I thought about going Jackson Pollock on my ruined egg. I think it turned out pretty good.

This was taken a couple of weeks ago on Jackson Creek near Brisbane airport, access from near Nudgee Beach. It was quite lovely and even the mozzies weren’t too bad.

The Bunkhouse Hotel is located in the old IOOF Lodge, which was built circa 1910. The hotel lobby serves as the town's Post Office.
Originally the Place d'Armes but renamed for Andrew Jackson after the Battle of New Orleans (1815), this is the historical center of New Orleans. The architecture of the surrounding area, the French Quarter, makes this the only American city I have ever visited that has a European feel. Interestingly, most of the original French buildings were destroyed by fire in 1788; the architecture is mainly Spanish, dating to the relatively brief period of Spanish Rule (1763-1800) between the Seven Years War and the Napoleonic Wars. Returning lite power from their trip down to Saginaw yard, ADBF 1760 and 1758 wait at the east end of Ensel yard. In a moment they'll receive permission to open the crossover at Turner Street from the RN dispatcher and onto CSX Main 2 for their short run east across town back to home rails at MA. They operate as Z646 over CSX rails.
