The octagonal Jubilee Tower (officially called Darwen Tower) on Darwen Hill overlooking the town of Darwen in Lancashire, England, was completed in 1898 to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. It also commemorated the victory of the local people for the right of access to the surrounding moors. It was opened to the public on 24 September 1898.

The tower is 85 feet (25.9 m) in height; Darwen Hill (also known as Beacon Hill) is 1,220 feet (370 metres) above sea-level. Walkers can climb to the top of the tower via the internal staircase to see views of North Yorkshire, Morecambe Bay, Blackpool Tower, Cumbria, the Isle of Man, North Wales, Derbyshire, elsewhere in Lancashire, and surrounding moorland.

Not too sure about this one - I would have preferred to take it further back but I wanted a glint and it was running in the shadow of the exhaust until the last minute.Comments welcomed !

The curved pedestrian bridge (220 metre long) linking the Merlion Park and the Esplanade theatres at the Singapore River.

The 220 metre long Jubilee bridge was built to commemorate 50 years of Singapore independence, as well as provide an alternate walkway to the Esplanade Bridge when authorities realise it was too narrow for pedestrians to stroll comfortable.

The bridge was opened on March 29, 2015, a month earlier than planned, on the day of a state funeral procession for Singapore's late founding father Lee Kuan Yew.

LMS Jubilee 45699 Galatea heading the 'Hadrian' tour through Melkridge on the Tyne Valley line on the 16th May 2015.

Following a lengthy return from near scrapyard condition. Galatea was at one stage regarded as 'unrestorable' due to it's centre driving wheels being cut at Woodhams scrap yard but after initially being purchased for spares it was gradually restored and returned to steam in 2013.

This is a reworked version of a shot I posted back in 2015 but was never entirely happy with. I've made some adjustments to the brightness and saturation and made some smaller adjustments to the composition/cropping.

This seems like an age ago now, but I have finally sourced another picture from the Jubilee T-Party at Josie's Place, back in June!!

From left to right, you have: Rachel (Leader of the Gang!), Gillian, Linda, Allie (?), with Yours Truly at the front down on her knees (as per usual!).

It was a really fun afternoon! There were other girls present through the day, but this is the only group scene I have managed to locate!!

Love and Kisses to All!!

A night time visit to the Runcorn Jubilee Bridge with Moore Camera Club.

He has fun killing people, hence the name "Jubilee".

I must say, I'm hugely happy with this.

Hugely inspired by Tac. But I'm guessing you guesses that, anyways. :>

Enjoy!

A couple of weeks ago, I attended a fabulous Jubilee T-Party, at Josie's Place. I met up with a bunch of girls I hadn't seen for a very long time... The guests included my old pal, girlfriend and partner in crime, the amazing Rachel Cole - official chair of the fabulous Brick Lane Posse.

Here are Rachel and I vamping it up for the camera. More pics of this party and (hopefully) of the other guests coming soon!!!

Love and Kisses to All!

A lucky picture at Crystal Palace with 2 of the 'SRM's in it. These RMs were painted silver to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee. There is an RT as well as an added bonus. The 122 remained RT until summer 78.

In 1986 the state of South Australia celebrated its sesquicentenary and the federally owned Australian National, which was headquartered in SA, formed a special Jubilee train that travelled around the state on both broad and standard gauge.

On 18 March 1986, ALCo 955 was seen at Petwood hauling the train from Adelaide to Tailem Bend en route to visiting towns on branch lines out in the Murray Mallee.

The irony is that 30 years on, apart from the mainlines, every branch the train travelled on in 1986 has been closed. That's progress!

The Jubilee Clock Tower is a free-standing clock tower on the Esplanade of Weymouth, Dorset, England. It was built and erected in 1888 to commemorate the Golden jubilee of Queen Victoria and became Grade II Listed in 1974. Historic England described the clock as being a "florid but characteristic enrichment to the sea-front" and "boldy coloured". It is built of cast and wrought-iron and set on a Portland stone base

Erected by public subscription. The clock being the gift of Sir Heney Edwards.

The Jubilee River is a hydraulic channel in southern England. It is 11.6 km (7.2 mi) long[1] and is on average 45 metres (148 feet) wide.[2] It was constructed in the late 1990s and early 2000s to take overflow from the River Thames and so alleviate flooding to areas in and around the towns of Maidenhead, Windsor, and Eton in the counties of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. It achieves this by taking water from the left (eastern) bank of the Thames upstream of Boulter's Lock near Maidenhead and returning it downstream of Eton
