Wanted: testing that sucks less

A quick way to write tests for javascript, using existing testing frameworks and if possible get data back instead of being tied to a gui.

Well I've got the first bit done. Using my

- js code I want tested

- test code

- a simple page calling css, dependencies and source files

The key bit is the YUI Test lib. Not only does it work, there are plenty of examples that show you how it works. But this isn't enough. I want to be able to

- create a series of tests

- write the code against the tests

- call a url that gets back the test results only

From there I can do a lot of things. Add the data to a database, write reports, show bugs over time etc. The key bit is I'm not tied to a gui.

What you see here is a simple test to see if what I put in a simple object is correct. Nothing more. The key bit also is the code, the test, the page that calls it and most important the data that is generated is independent of each other.

5. Setting Bookmark Mozilla

Download terlebih dahulu link berikut ini :

Karena file dalam bentuk rar, maka harus di ekstrak terlebih dahulu.

Setelah itu pada Mozilla Firefox, klik Menu Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > import & backup > restore > choose file dan pilih file yang telah diekstrak tadi dan KLIK OK

Arahkan mouse disebelah kanan tanda “+” >> klik kanan mouse anda

Klik “Bookmarks Toolbar”

Maka akan muncul bookmarks ppob seperti gambar diatas : PPOB BANK BTN, KAI / Pesawat, dll

6. Setting Printer

Untuk setting printer, harus login terlebih dahulu ke web transaksi PPOB BANK BTN

Klik “PPOB BANK BTN”

Masukkan user id dan password, serta kode verifikasinya

Setelah Login,

Klik menu Setting

Pada pilihan “tipe” : dot matrix ( untuk printer dot matrix, seperti : Epson Lx300, Lx800, dll)

Pilih HTML ( untuk printer tinta : seperti canon, deskjet, dll)

Kertas : 1/4 Kuarto

Langkah – Langkah diatas harus dilakukan, agar akses aplikasi web transaksi lancar dan tidak ada kendala.

Paul Hill - All your API are Belong to Us by QCon Conferences

Recently a small team at KIXEYE was tasked with a ground-up rebuild of the KIXEYE platform API and web properties with high expectations (millions of active players), and short timelines (from concept to delivery of features in days). This is not a lesson about how to build the perfect hypermedia API. This is a story about going to battle with difficult deadlines and deliverables and winning the day.

We built a hypermedia API supporting thousands of requests per second, taking full advantage of the benefits of an asynchronous architecture (Node.js), bi-directional persistent communication channels (websockets), and the performance and flexibility of a document data store (MongoDB) while retaining standards based data validation (JSON-Schema v4), transactional control and error handling (Promises), dynamic documentation (Swagger), efficient caching (Memcached & Varnish), and ease of maintenance (Hypermedia ReST).

Christmas Street, SLC, UT 07 (Just a test) by samwibatt

Just testing the new version of Flickr Uploadr. The last one had some bug that made it jam up good and hard when I started it up - or so I thought. It turns out that if you drag some pictures into it, then close it, then move or delete some of the pictures, it throws a fit next time you start it and you need to scrub a little file called "photos.json" hidden way down deep in a folder that's usually invisible. Uninstalling the Uploadr and reinstalling a new version wasn't enough to fix it, so clearly the uninstaller leaves some stuff behind. Evil! This is for the windows version, so perhaps I should expect it.

Lucky thing I'm a geek and tenacious enough to figure these things out.

So, never mind this picture. It's from awhile back when having Christmas lights up was normal (and, on the street where this house sits, required). Ours are still up because a) I think that as long as there's snow on the ground, Christmas lights are appropriate and b) I haven't gotten around to taking them down.

Looks like the uploadr works, yhey!

Transcription of a little visual I made when I realized what I was doing wrong

What I didn’t get was the order of operations. In hindsight this is a no-brainer which is why no one probably commented. Nonetheless this is paramount to getting this script to run properly. There are two things that I ran into that were troublesome—

1. p2.js handles the form. So it comes BEFORE functions.php handles the information. The pixy dust that is JSON turns your variables in p2.js into $_POST[] item that is retrievable in functions.php

2. The meta data is on entirely different TABLE, meaning that when you edit functions.php you can use the same function wp_insert_post() you need to have a separate function add_post_meta() —this seems like something the wordpress team should address, but whatever. It’s known now so I guess I can deal with it.

meta_value is your key, which means that is what your $_POST[‘key‘] variable is looking for in functions.php!!!

post_music_src is your javascript variable which holds the text data from your Form in post_form.php!!!

functions.php works the same way. the pink are your keys and the blue are your values.

The big difference is that add_post_meta is on a separate table and it takes 3 arguments—

1. the id to which the meta is attached 2. the key or the name for the type of meta data + 3. the value or data that the key contains.

Recently a small team at KIXEYE was tasked with a ground-up rebuild of the KIXEYE platform API and web properties with high expectations (millions of active players), and short timelines (from concept to delivery of features in days). This is not a lesson about how to build the perfect hypermedia API. This is a story about going to battle with difficult deadlines and deliverables and winning the day.

We built a hypermedia API supporting thousands of requests per second, taking full advantage of the benefits of an asynchronous architecture (Node.js), bi-directional persistent communication channels (websockets), and the performance and flexibility of a document data store (MongoDB) while retaining standards based data validation (JSON-Schema v4), transactional control and error handling (Promises), dynamic documentation (Swagger), efficient caching (Memcached & Varnish), and ease of maintenance (Hypermedia ReST).

Get off your AMF and don’t REST on JSON

Quick hack I'm working on. It

- grabs data in semi-realtime to server as JSON

- loads JSON data into browser as users mouse-over.

This is repeated for my flickr, hackernews, lastfm and delicious links. The test run you see here loads a pre-fetched json file using the flickr API to get the latest images I've uploaded. I update this list every couple of hours or so. Here the test data is simply a static file.

Sure the layout is borked (size etc). But you can see the image with the mouse run over it is constructed via the JSON file building a link with an image in the url with title and link. The result will be sort of real-time. The trade-off is data from my updated sites that will be current today, not necessarily the last minute.

The interesting bit is extracting the JSON file data and then writing the JQuery script in the $.document.ready function. Chaining works as you would expect and I've added the image to a url by identifying a unique image id (generated in Javascript at runtime). A lot to do but it shows me with a bit of preprocessing at the server

- build & check valid JSON file

Then have a small Javascript library using my own tools that read JSON, build an array of objects then hand to JQuery to render a result.

I'll be writing a more detailed example showing how I used the flickr API with python, the resultant JSON file, JQuery and Firebug at a future date.

The following url allows you to query your public profile without using the api ~ api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?id=271642... If you use the api too much you can be throttled. So you have to ask why did I really bother? There may be reasons I want to make calls to the api but for the moment I'll stick with the feed in JSON format.

All of the HaikuHelper UI is completely customizable or you can create your own from scratch. All changes appear instantly within the UI without needing to refresh. Full control of the entire system is possible. HaikuHelper also integrates with other programming and scripting languages, other third party devices and even includes full JSON, HTTP and jQuery APIs.

Long names (or other configuration details) of any object can be easily changed in HaikuHelper and will instantly update on all connected Web Interfaces.

HaikuHelper is designed to be used in many ways, including remote control, control from a computer within a home, and for designing custom touch panel interfaces or even mobile device interfaces. The user experience can be interactive, live, rich, animated, full of effects and still be extremely responsive in any of these situations.

Updates to a custom UI are even possible live, over the Internet, so that customers can get updates to custom a custom UI you have designed without the need for your intervention on their system. Or you can make changes to their system remotely.

HaikuHelper can also be used as a hosted solution, where the interface and/or automation logic is hosted on your own server, such that the customer does not require a dedicated always-on machine to run HaikuHelper. This also gives you great control over the system for adding customer-requested customization.
