RAF Tornado Gr4 flying at low level on a Joint Warrior tasking. This shot was taken in the Scottish Borders back in October 2012. We also got 5 more Tornados that day including a 4-ship of German Air Force Tornados and the II (AC) SQN Centenary jet 'Shiny Two'.
Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) conduct a joint training exercise in Manchester.
The scenario involved emergency services coming under attack while dealing the aftermath of a road traffic collision.
The exercise – one of a series – is intended to ensure the services can work together effectively to deal with dangerous situations.

So Sparkle Girls fashions still haven’t turned up in Australia but I still keep an eye on Sparkle Girls merch when I can. Today I saw this fashion pack I was going to ignore but I noticed the arms were posed weirdly and saw it was fully articulated. I made sure she had jointed knees and I bought the one set with clothes I liked (which was the green sweater).
Honestly I was hoping to get a decent match to my super orange/pink Yukko chan clone head, but Carrie’s head is too pink. Also the Sparkle Girl body is super lightweight and hollow, and the hip joints are so badly designed the hips just splay out.
The head is also super short so I don’t think anything but vintage style Skipper heads could even fit on it.
PLUS all the “outfits” are one piece things so the sweater is sewn into the short skirt and the dance top is sewn into the shorts.
But hey, I’m going to dremel the heck out of the so hopefully I can find a decent match.

Rumbling across the bridge we have an empty CSX coal train doing every once of track speed on the Buckingham Branch jointed rail.
Trying the bionicle friction sliders out, but they where to long for the belly joint so I just used the one connector part in the same manner. There seems to be enough stiffness for this to work ok here and I may try this for the arms as well.
Took some pictures of my sweet android girls today and I also made a little video while I took these photos.

...by rotating the parts around pivot points - so not exactly accurate, but it's fun to get an idea of how she might move. That's the main downside to working digitally - you can't know for sure how something will work, or how it will feel - like will the joints move easily?, will they kick? etc...
Next time (she says, already!), I'll start sculpting directly in Blender, rather than Sculptris, because although it's great as an introductory tool to 3d modelling, it's very difficult to control the topology, so my model has a lot of kinks that keep needing to be ironed out. Blender's sculpting tools are harder to get the hang of, but I found with practice it becomes more and more intuitive.
Still so much to do!!

Meet Timber, the little deer Ball Jointed Doll. Timber is completely handmade by me, without the use of any molds. Each piece is carefully sculpted. It means it is an one of a kind creation, no copies were taken. It is a unique piece.
The doll is made out of cold porcelain, and air dry clay (that isn't fragile as the name "porcelain" suggests, but actually it is flexible). This material doesn't get yellow over the sun light, as resin does. Timber is a tiny little doll, measuring 15cm in height. It was painted with pastels and airbrushed, and sealed. It has pieces of felt in some joints to protect the painting. Faceplate, tail and antlers are attached with magnets, and the last one goes in two colors: white and brown. The eyes are handmade with cold porcelain clay and glass cabochons and can be changed if wanted, but no one fits better than the handmade ones, in the artist opinion. It has human eyelashes, that are glued on and can't be removed. The doll is able to stand by itself and a doll stand is not needed, in most cases. It has the ability to assume many positions, but it's only allowed to post five pictures on this announce, which aren't enough.
Artist words: "this is my second attempt to make an anthro doll (animal that stands in two legs). It was supposed to be a simple project, but I ended up making it very complex. I have started on June and finished in December. Therefore, I have spent six months working on this project. I made the face completely different from my normal style, and I must admit it came up lovely! With the additions of eyelashes for the first time, it was just the cherry of the cake. I have worked hard remaking and remaking pieces until I thought it was perfect. You have no idea of how much work and love were into creating this cute little thing. Timber is a male, in my opinion, but everyone thinks it is a female. I think it is still growing up to decide which one to be, and it's new owner will be able to help in this decision. For the first time I have made a beautiful custom box to go with the doll too, which is a great addition, in my opinion. Timber deserves a good home to go. Everyone who meets him fall in love with the cuteness, and I myself, every time I open it's box, can just say "awww". I am sure he will be a great addition to someone's collection, a truly unique piece."
Package content: Timber, the ball jointed doll fully assembled as in the pictures; a wooden box, covered in cold porcelain and painted, with all sorts of details and artist logo on, handmade by the artist; a cushion, sewn by a talented friend of the artist; a fabric bag, carefully sewn by the artist, a certificate of authenticity; instructions; extra pieces of felt; two pairs of antlers.

I've been wanting to make leggings like this for ages and I finally found the fabric! There's some available in SD, MNF and YoSD sizes, but they're only limited to quantities of 1 or 2 per design. Most of the SD ones were gone overnight!
