Another pic from the East Lansing Summer Solstice Jazz Fest 2024 in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. Keeping the shutter speed slow to allow some dynamic energy to express movement in the image.
We stayed with an very old friend of ours while we were in Sitges. She has a newer friend called Xavi who plays saxophone very well. He is a professional who plays a lot of gigs in the area. However on a Sunday he plays for free at an afternoon session at the Utopia hotel in Sitges. He is playing here with his mate Oscar on a pretty beat up piano. It was a good session you cannot beat Jazz on a Sunday afternoon with a bottle of wine in the sunshine
It was hard getting the exposure right on this shot the room was bright but they were playing in front of a huge window and the sun was pouring through.

Above is a low-light-level capture that was taken in almost complete darkness. It's absolutely amazing the low-light that your camera picks up...with almost nothing there! Just when you think it's over...wait another ten minutes, it might come back... It's never over until the Sandman says it's over ~ sunset afterglow ~ Florida Everglades U.S.A.

Bumblebee has his hands full taking on Soundwave and Starscream, so the heroic Autobot Jazz has come to the rescue!
Jazz is articulated at the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. His car mode carries one minifigure and uses building techniques from several Speed Champions sets for maximum sports car flavor (and it easily accommodates repro-decals for the actual G1 Jazz toy).

22nd Red Bank Jazz & Blues Festival. We went there and I was looking for a contribution to the People group (doesn't exist any more). This one is the picture I like best. Taking it was a little bit embarrassing. There was no real crowd in front of the stage (one or two hundred listeners were there but they kept their distance preferring places in the shades – you can see some of this in the reflection of the musicians sunglasses) and then there was that “real” photographer with his dSLR and a very big lens choosing exactly the spot I wanted to have for my picture. Imagine me going up to the stage with my little Canon Powershot G9 to take my picture. I waited a bit but then I did it and this is the best out of a series of a dozen (actually the last picture I took). I hope you like it too.
I have new pics from the 23rd Red Bank Jazz & Blues Festival which you can find here.
