Before Novemeber ends I wanted to take pictures of this month's display. It seems like the theme was Black & Nude. I had a light bulb moment with Veronique as I wanted to add her with the NU.Face girls just to show everyone who's queen! I've always wanted to see Karolin in this nude sweater with trousers. I added these embroidered gloves for extra chicness. A High fashion moment! I love a redhead in nude and I've always imagined Giselle in this Jason Wu Point D'esprit tulle slip dress with Swarovski crystals. Perfect! But here comes Nadja breaking all the rules in a red belted suit. She's not one to fade into the background. But they all look stunning right? I'm obsessed!

Repainted Charlie's Angels Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith), Sabrina Duncan (Kate Jackson), Jill (Farrah Fawcett) Munroe from the first season of Charlie's Angels. All three angels were repainted and restyled by Noel Cruz. Jaclyn, Kate and Farrah are wearing clothes designed by Jason Wu.
Kate is a Mattel TV Action Star Barbie's repainted and placed on Jason Wu Fashion Royalty bodies. Jaclyn Smith is a repainted Lois Lane Barbie. Farrah Fawcett (version 1.0) is a also Mattel Black Label Farrah Fawcett Barbies as painted and styled by artist Noel Cruz for www.myfarrah.com.

Because the staff at Net-a-Porter (and Bergdorf Goodman) had a bright idea of getting rid of the shipper boxes, we really have no clue of what these Jason Wu 10th Anniversary dolls’ official names are. For some they were fortunate to have their dolls in shipper boxes from Bergdorf. I believe the name of this second Net-a-Porter Exclusive is JWU10 – Fall 2013 as this doll’s look is based off of Chanel Iman from Jason Wu’s Fall 2013 Ready-to-Wear Collection.
One thing that changed in the packaging of these Jason Wu 10th Anniversary dolls was the absence of the paper covering. It looks like they got rid of it completely following the footsteps of mainline Fashion Royalty. The last time we saw it was when La Vie En Bleu was released. In terms of quality control there were a couple of flaws that I have observed. One is the sloppy hairline. Looking through real life pics on Ebay, a lot of these Anniversary dolls came with crooked hairlines and with two hair plugs merging into one on some of them. Finding one that’s good can be a challenge. Do consider looking through actual pictures of the dolls when shopping online. You may want to ask for pictures from the seller before purchasing. Since you are paying a secondary market price then it better be worth the money. Another flaw that I have observed is dried up glue residue on the lashes from the pictures I have seen. The application seems to be sloppy as well. For dolls with an edition size of 200 with a retail price of $225 I expect perfection. The dolls in this collection do have the Velvet Touch skin which gives the body this matte finish. Jason Wu loves to come up with something new and something that has never been done before. I’m not a fan of this idea just because the heads and bodies appear to have different textures. Like La Vie En Bleu, the knees aren’t coated plus they do peel off at the elbow which is not a good look. The head on this doll seem to be a perfect match to the color of the body though which is just fitting because she’s a special doll. Previously Changing Winds Eden suffered a head and body color mismatch in this skin tone and really that’s the last thing I need.
With Integrity Toys I usually think of the thoughtfulness in their design and their packaging. Because she’s wearing a dress in black and red they covered her body with paper. They also covered her arms and feet in plastic to avoid staining. They might as well have covered the part where the red fabric touches her shoulder but they didn’t. Her ears aren’t pierced which is surprising coming from IT. Even the ITBE dolls that do not come with jewelry have their ears pierced because they do know that collectors love to accessorize and redress the dolls. This is actually the first female doll that I got from IT that does not have her ears pierced. I get that the models on the Fall 2013 runway didn’t have any jewelry on, but at least a pair of stud earrings and a bracelet would have been great additions especially that the retail price on these dolls aren’t cheap. They were able to add handbags one some of the dolls from the collection that I don’t see why they could not include some jewelry pieces for this doll.
Despite the lack of thought put into this doll, she is a must-have for me. This was one of the Jason Wu looks I wanted in doll form for a long time. While we’ve seen similar Jason Wu inspired dresses from ITBE before, I wanted something that was an official Jason Wu replica. Although she’s so similar to Seduisante, I really wanted a version in this hairstyle and in this make-up. She comes with Intrigue/On The Rise eyes but with eyebrows from the first Net-a-Porter Exclusive Elyse doll. This is actually a face-up I wanted for Adele 2.0 and Dominique 2.0. The color of the eyeshadow seems to be a Jason Wu trademark as he does love a pop of blue and purple on the eye. It actually reminds me of make-up artist Pat McGrath’s Dark Star 006 UltraViolet Blue. That pop of color against her skin tone is just sublime.
The release on these Anniversary dolls has really been frustrating for me as I have not been able to acquire them at retail price despite manning the computer and despite being on time. The two retailers Bergdorf Goodman and Net-a-Porter would either have the dolls available three or more hours ahead of the announced release time, or that they did not set a limit on the allowed items purchased or that they did not acknowledge a first come first serve basis service. Luck was not on my side this time around. I hope Jason Wu rethinks of where his dolls will be sold next. While it is a good promotion on his brand to have these fashion retailers involved in the sales of his dolls, I think they should rather be available via W Club where true Jason Wu doll fans and genuine doll collectors are. After all, he has mentioned that the dolls are for us fans that have been loyal to Integrity Toys and to Fashion Royalty.
