"Hi folks Jasmine here and very happy.Today we're at Lake Poway. We got here by way of Blue Sky Ecological Reserve and walked up the hill.I had roast beef for lunch and as I said very happy to be enjoying the cool breeze and sunny day.I'm on the leash because I wander off and chase other dogs.I try to be good but after all I am a teenager.Heehee.
My migraine is finally gone today. This was taken this morning after our hike, Jasmine posed on newly cut bales of hay. She's wearing the same doggles as "Bessie" [bulldog1] had on yesterday.
Jasmine seems to be highly sensitive to bright sunlight. She actually likes wearing the doggles once she gets used to them strapped to her head.
Update: I went ahead and deleted pix 2 since the original was stronger in composition.

It's January so the front door Christmas wreath[s] comes down. I always have Jasmine pose with it on. It is still in good shape. I will put it in the backyard and maybe get some squirrel shots next to it.
Today is Jasmine's one year anniversary as she passed on March 6, 2013. We took flowers to put at the spot where we buried her ashes. Then we went to a nearby resort to have a light breakfast.
We miss our girl so much. Echo fills the empty void but we are still grieving for Jasmine.
Jasmine died from:
Hemangiosarcoma : an extremely aggressive tumor of blood vessel origin--hers was found in her spleen.

this is jasmine dog. she is a rescue, and we've been through a lot in the few short years we've been together. this, a very temporary pause from chasing squirrels around the yard. although, she still has her eyes on them.
The jasmine is blooming and so is the daffodils and some forsythia here in January. Nary a snowflake to be seen this year.
After waiting ALL day to hear from Jasmine's oncologist, she finally called a few minutes ago.
The news isn't good. The recheck yesterday did indicate Mast Cell Cancer of the spleen. Blood work indicated a change in red blood count and liver values since last blood work in October.
Thankfully all 13 of the masses under her skin were indeed just fatty skin tumors [benign] and not mast cell tumors.
But our worry is how much the disease has spread internally.
If we go ahead with surgery [ to remove the spleen ] the soonest will be on Sunday. She will stay two -three days. Update: They can do the surgery on Thursday instead of Sunday!!
She will need chemo treatment even after the surgery because the mast cell tumors have probably spread. Life expectancy in worst case scenario would be only six months.
I feel like someone kicked me in the stomach. ...but we will proceed and hope for the best.
While walking her this morning along the river we were surprised to see this cargo shipped anchored and the name of the ship was JASMINE ACE. [We've never seen a freighter named Jasmine].
Last night I viewed the pics I took of Jasmine in 2012 and was quite pleased because I managed to take lots of her outside--which isn't easy to do because she's easily distracted when out and not always willing to look at the camera. I dismantled my studio in Feb so was determined to take pics of her out in nature.
I hope to do the same this year! I viewed my cat sets and saw that I had lots of pictures of Rusty but not may of my other two cats--so hope to change that this year. ..even tho' Keiko and June are much more difficult to capture.
Unlike last year, I hope to focus on myself more and get healthier. In 2012 I gained ten pounds. Which isn't good because I wanted to lose 20 lbs LAST year...so now I have 30 to lose. Not fun. So, I may be doing less cat rescues and instead spending more time at home working on me--and paying more attention to my own pets. Of course, I'll always rescue a cat [ or dog] that I come across--but won't be actively seeking them out.
Our jasmine bush is flowering for the second time in November.
This is a very confused bush...it never done this before, must be climate change.
Met a group of friends this morning at Brawn & Brains, a nice little cafe not far from Mountbatten. Jasmine, one of the young ladies working at the cafe, was so friendly and polite to me as she took my order. I decided to ask if she would not mind that I take her portrait and she happily agreed. I took two shots, one of her smiling, and another of her not smiling. This shot is the not smiling portrait.

A re-edit of a photo took earlier using a Topaz texture of my sweet baby girl. She loves getting under blankets.
Posing in the daisies along the Columbia River.
Stevenson, WA.
She was squinting even tho' it was overcast, so put my sunglasses on her and she seemed to appreciate it.
I've had two shoots that I would consider a failure on my part. Both inside. But even within those failures there are 3-4 pics from the day that I still kind of like even when tarnished by the memory of me not getting it right. This particular shoot didn't work out for a few reasons. Jasmine was unhappy with her hair and as she is a hair stylist that was a no go. I just didn't like hardly anything that I got and couldn't get it right. It didn't help that Jasmine's pet python had got out of its tank and she didn't quite know where it was!
