Mixed media and acrylic and ink on board painting by Mohammad Din Mohammad exhibited during The Mistaken Ancestor : Something New Must Turn Up at the National Gallery Singapore.
The cover of issue 1 features Romance & Roses Sindy although her produced doll had a more silver blonde hair colour. This picture has also been flipped and Sindy is looking the opposite way.
Even before coming to see Wedge Issue Pizza, theyâd already started to win me over via what Iâd heard about their approach and how people described the dining experience there. Under the auspices of Darren Atwater and Martha Gall, a (supposedly very friendly) expat Canadian couple who decided to come to London and sell pizza for a living, Wedge Issue opened in October 15th 2015 on busy Clerkenwell Road (kinda halfway between Clerkenwell and Bloomsbury). Since then, things appear to have been going splendidly - with rave reviews and plenty of talk about good value for money in this crushingly competitive world of London pizza restaurants.
Whatâs the deal with Wedge Issue? Well, the tagline (and premise) is simple; 'Pizza + Beer.â So, how about that pizza and beer then? Well, all of the pizzas are named after all the London places you know and love (think 'The Billingsgate' and 'The Fitzrovia'). These pizzas are wood fired and somewhat Neapolitan with a few more modern New York touches. As for beers - theyâve gone and made some effort in sourcing the lesser known stuff: craft breweries such as Pressure Drop, Weird Beard and even Oregon based Rogue are well represented. Hell, they even do a mead. Also worth bearing in mind is Wedge Issueâs 3 hour(!!!) happy hour ('happy hours?') - with drinks and starters at half price. And not to worry; if youâre not keen on either pizza or beer, youâre not entirely stuck. Thereâs a reasonable selection of pasta, and a small selection of wine (organised into âhouseâ, âdecentâ and âpretty goodâ - they donât say what these wines are exactly, but I took you some photosâ¦)
As for ambiance - think three floors (including a basement cellar bar with frequent live music), mostly sparse wooden decor and an open kitchen where you can observe the creation of your pizza. For those who wonder about the name, a âwedge issueâ is a point of contention (usually sociological or political) that drives a metaphorical wedge between a group of people (thanks, Wikipedia!). Basically that one annoying thing you tend to argue about a lot. Why Darren and Martha chose it as a name, I donât know - perhaps because the pizza has a wedge shape? All in all, itâs well priced, completely unpretentious, thereâs a great selection of beer, and the pizza ainât so bad at all. And thatâs not a wedge issue ;D

The Greene King IPA Stand in the northeast corner of the County Ground, Chelmsford. Captured during the first session of the first day's play in a scheduled four-day County Championship fixture between Essex and Middlesex. Title-chasing Essex, who have played at the County Ground since 1925, went on to win by 297 runs, with a day to spare.
An important fixture for each team (welcome, this late in the season) produced an interesting day’s play. With the sun beating down, Essex, on winning the toss, did the obvious and chose to bat. Left-handers Nick Browne (59) and Alastair Cook (58) gave them a solid start, putting on 122 for the first wicket. The 40-minute lunch break did nothing for either’s concentration, however, and spinner Josh de Caires (Michael Atherton’s son) removed both soon after the second session began. The tireless de Caires went on to bowl a whopping 38 overs, finishing with eight maidens and 7-105.
Middlesex will be disappointed they couldn’t bowl out Essex, whose last pair stood firm, even against the new ball. After the hosts’ mini-collapse to 169-5, Adam Rossington (37) and Matt Critchley (36) got Essex back on course by adding 66 for the sixth wicket. Superb catches, just inside the boundary rope, by Luke Hollman and Mark Stoneman. Dashing Indian Umesh Yadav marked his Essex debut with a six in a quickfire 18.
