The model is finished in Lowell Gray & Silver French Gray.

After recent family issues, I've been on a large origami spree. To explain in as few words as possible, the current situation is, my friend moved in in January. His dad and my mom are dating. This friend turned out to be an enemy, and that room-mate that you can't get along with.

After some serious mistakes, my family has cut off his communication to nearly everyone, having taken away his phone, computer, and deleted his Facebook. For some odd reason, he thinks I'm to blame, although my family realizes I have nothing to do with his actions.

So now, his father, who has turned into one of my father figures, has threatened to move out with his son. But, that changed, and now he fears that he will lose his son to his mother (Divorce-caused rivalry), forever. And I'm caught in the middle.

So to keep myself sane, I've cut off my gaming parties, my origami meet-ups, and big-group get-togethers to relax, fold, and clear my mind. Things have been getting better, though. I saw my favorite band live, with my girlfriend and my good friend Sara, yesterday. I've cut soda out of my diet and have been slowly losing weight for the past month. My girlfriend and family enjoy my FoHawk, and I've turned into a repurposer.

So I'm doing a little bit better now. I have a positive view on the future. I just miss the drama-less days before everything happened.

So here, to save my sanity for another day, I present to you, these:

Turban Shell Cube by Kawasaki Toshikazu, folded from 12 square of 15cm kami. And, one of my favorites, an octagonal tato-box designed by Tomoko Fuse, folded from a 6 inch square of cardstock.

The IBSA Ministers issued the following statement on 23rd September 2011 on the margins of the 66th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

4. They acknowledged the positive role that the three IBSA countries have been playing in the maintenance of international peace and security during their current tenure on the Security Council. They committed themselves to continued close cooperation in order to bring their perspectives into the work and decision-making processes of the UNSC.

5. In the context of contributing to sustainable peace and security in countries dealing with post- conflict situations and reconstruction, the IBSA countries recalled the importance of South-South Cooperation, in particular projects carried out through the IBSA Facility for Poverty and Hunger Alleviation (IBSA Trust Fund), among others in Haiti , Palestine , Guinea-Bissau , Burundi and Sierra Leone . Since the announcement of the results of the referendum in the South Sudan on 7 February 2011, IBSA countries are supporting the reconstruction and development of both the Sudan and South Sudan , through the IBSA Trust Fund.

6. They reiterated their view that peacekeeping operations have a contribution to make in early peacebuilding activities and in providing an environment conducive to the implementation of development strategies, as a means to bring immediate peace dividends to afflicted areas and to contribute to a cooperative atmosphere for UN missions.

7. They also noted that when considering the deployment of a mission or in evaluating and renewing the mandate of current missions, the Security Council should work in close cooperation with the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC), with a view to developing a stronger synergy between the two organs.

8. The need for the UN to ensure stronger cooperation and coordination with regional representative bodies such as the African Union and its Peace and Security Council was also reiterated.

9. They stressed that IBSA countries have consistently engaged constructively in deliberations on the UNSC in an effort to find permanent solutions to highly complex issues with emphasis on diplomacy and dialogue. It may be recalled that IBSA Deputy Foreign Ministers visited Syria as part of a trilateral engagement with the Syrian government to encourage democratic changes and a peaceful resolution to the situation. That initiative reflects values shared by the IBSA countries especially with relation to the promotion of democracy and human rights and the protection of civilians.

10. India , Brazil and South Africa committed to resume discussions and coordination on Security Council issues during the IBSA Summit which will be hosted in South Africa on 18 October 2011.

11. India and Brazil conveyed their best wishes to South Africa as host of the next IBSA Summit, on 18 October 2011.”

1. They observed the nature of the historic occasion as the three IBSA countries serving concurrently as non-permanent members in the UN Security Council during the year 2011.

2. They pledged their continued cooperation to ensure that the voices of these three democracies from the South make a meaningful and unique contribution to global peace and security. They further exchanged views on the current global political, economic and financial environment, which pose considerable challenges, notably for developing countries. They reiterated that the current international system has to be more reflective of the needs and priorities of developing countries. IBSA, as like-minded countries, will continue to strive to contribute to a new world order whose political, economic and financial architecture is more inclusive, representative and legitimate.

3. They underscored the need for urgent reform of the Security Council, including an expansion in both permanent and non-permanent categories of its membership, with increased participation of developing countries in both. The need for greater progress in the intergovernmental negotiations on the UNSC reform was identified as critical to ensure the required impetus to achieve change. They committed themselves to maintain close cooperation and coordination to continue to promote initiatives aimed at achieving tangible results during UNGA66 and thereafter. Today a wizard showed up at the ass crack of dawn to take sunrise shots of him standing in the freezing lake. The shoot was supposed to be about a magical woman but my agent accidentally booked him instead. FML?

Founded in 1991 the Big Issue is a magazine written by journalists and sold by street vendors. Becoming a Big Issue vendor is one way in which homeless people can start to turn their lives around. Vendors are not employed by the Big Issue so manage their own sales. The aim is for them to develop skills and benefit from the sales they make. This is reflected in the Big Issue motto, ‘a hand up, not a hand out’.

It was funny because the go-to skirt spread and Mariah Carey's shoot was held in the same studio on the same day. Due to a miscommunication with the reception I walked in on Mariah's shoot! Thank god she was running hours late and wasn't there yet!

What's funny is that this was my last day of work at Glamour and since I was at the shoot, the intern that took my spot as Liza's intern for the fall ended up working on Mariah's shoot!

She worked on the shoot til late that Friday night and even went to Mariah's apartment!

So which would you have picked, to be featured in the magazine or to get to hang out at Mariah's shoot?

“Associated” is a site specific show in a severely damaged brownstone, currently with a Vacate Order, issued by the DOB. As you may recall, the huge fire on Nov 12th 2010 at the Associated Supermarket on 5th Avenue and 17th Street not only damaged the supermarket building including the Open Source Gallery, but also a brownstone next door. The 3 family house, the Gallery owners’ home, was also rendered uninhabitable by the blaze.

There is no exact date for the show. There will be a 2 week window when the Vacate Order will be dropped and the contractors will start their work. All participating artists are prepared to install their work any day within the next month.
