I know, it is a well photographed location. what did impress me was the wedding party that wandered over to the house, the bride in her wedding dress, to have photos taken in an absolute hoolie!!
A disused pier on Hurst Spit. On this particular morning the fog closed in and I was all alone in the silence. I felt this deserved a post-apocalyptic edit to covey the atmosphere.
The bleak and atmospheric Dungeness power station,Dungeness is a headland on the coast of Kent, England, formed largely of a shingle beach. It shelters a large area of low-lying land, Romney Marsh. Dungeness spans Dungeness Nuclear Power Station, the hamlet of Dungeness, and an ecological site at the same location. It lies within the civil parish of Lydd. (Wikipedia)
On a recent winter camping trip, we hiked along this section of Georgian Bay shoreline. Usually at this time of the year, we can walk on the ice over to that small island. Not this year. There were chunks of ice floating like giant frozen lily pads. I listened to a report that experts are out on the ice on all the Great Lakes checking the water quality during winter. They say that this is the time when the most ice cover occurs on the lakes and lately the ice cover has been less each year. They want to study how it affects our drinking water.
On the way to our hotel, love abit of car photography. Can't resist clicking away whilst in transit!
I used this candlestick in a shot yesterday, and decided to light it up again for today’s theme at We’re Here!:
I live in Northern California within the very large area Pacific Gas & Electric decided to “shut down” this last week. I had just returned from a vacation out of state, and had only a 24-hour notice to scramble around and get ready for life without electricity for as long as a week.
It turned out I live in a pocket where the power stayed on, but the office where I work was down. Thankfully, the company has been doing practice “disaster recovery” drills for a couple of years now, so before the lights went out they switched our computer network over to generator power to preserve data integrity and permit automatic interfaces to continue. Those of us who still had power could log in from home and continue working. We were warned to stay off the roads, and an odd consequence of the disruption was that many internet destinations seemed to be “out of order” for me. I could work, but I could not play – especially on Flickr.
I really had cabin fever by the time it was all over. I was definitely in isolation.
I needed to take this photo where my table is and there are several windows nearby. My photo processing tools increased the darkness and emphasized the desired isolated light effect. Happy Sliders Sunday!
Standing alone on prominent hill above the Devron River flowing from the Cabrach not far from Dufftown Speyside Scotland.
Social isolation that makes a person crazy.... ha, ha. Postapocalyptic world is really tough!
Have a grand week guys. Thank you for comments and faves.

I decided to take my daily exercise walk up the burn that runs beside our house. Because it is so close, I rarely photograph these falls. For those of you that like to enlarge images, there are a couple of nervous looking Dippers in this image as there was a White Tailed Sea Eagle gliding overhead. I am always grateful that I moved to Skye, but in these days of Corvid 19 lockdown, I know I have it very easy compared to others.
