Used a Cokin polarizer and ND graduated filter to get the exposure right.
Thanks to Astral Will for the inspiration for the title :)

2015.10.09 Cluj Napoca. Although Servtrans was bought by GFR , 882 still received the Servtrans paint scheme. Overhaul was made at Tehnotrans works. It's seen here arriving to Cluj Napoca Est yard as light engine from Dej , to take over a freight train towards Rupea.

Long Exposure of old groynes at Hopton, left to the mercy of the east coast tides after new sea defences were put in place.
On the way to a milky way shoot late last year I happened to find this little tree isolated from its peers. I noticed that it lined up precisely with Mt. Hood and just needed a large zoom lens to reach it.

I'm always a sucker for an opportunity that pops up along the way on a photo trip. Some of the photos taken during these spontaneous moments are my favorite because I never would have planned them to begin with :)

Belonging to the Devils Creek waterstream and the Columbia River watershead, this seasonally massive tiered-plunged waterfall knows how to capture one's very own eye, heart, and soul while traversing through this historically and geologically special region of Eastern Washington. Maxing out at a height of a little over 400 feet, this majestic gem feeds Banks Lake with the mysterious beauty of Steamboat Rock nearby.
Photo of the upper tier of Martin Falls and Banks Lake captured via Minolta MD Zoom Rokkor-X 24-50mm F/4 lens and the bracketing method of photography alongside State Route 155 (the Coulee Corridor National Scenic Byway). Devil's Punchbowl Area. Upper Grand Coulee Region. Columbia Plateau Region. Grant County, Washington. Early February 2018.
Exposure Time: 10 sec. * ISO Speed: ISO-100 * Aperture: F/8 * Bracketing: + / - 1 * Color Temperature: 4200 K * Film Emulation: Fujifilm Velvia * Filter: Warming Filter (85)
In an effort to get some fresh air, I went down to the access road at CP Cromby just in time for 94M to bring their aggregate loads through on their way to Girard Point. In charge was a pair of SD40Es.
Another winter shot from the Upper Calder Valley here in West Yorkshire.
A couple of moments earlier the barn looked to be floating on a sea of mist, and this one was taken as it began to clear a little in the sunlight.
I continue to be amazed with the beauty of this isolated rain cloud formation that moved across the landscape north of Mahomet, Illinois on Wednesday evening. The evening sun provided all the lighting and color to paint such a fantastic sky.
Lovely autumn colors on the wolly fringe moss which covers (some of) the lava fields of Iceland. I took this photo on the Snaefellsnes peninsula between Grundarfjörður and Stykkishólmur.
Dont look to hard at my jenky Photoshop skills. Took me ages to figure out how to remove stuff from the horizon. Anyway this is fromMeols Beach in the Wirral, 30 second eposure to smooth that water out.
Mjóifjörður means "Narrow Fjord", and it is indeed narrow, while 18 km long. Today it is one of the most isolated and least populated place in Iceland, with some 10 year-round inhabitants in the village of Brekka. It has a feel of an isolated world, as the only road to there is usually closed in winter, and goes through patches of snow even in summer. Lovers of tranquility will not be let down by Mjóifjörður, which has a hostel with a café. A little over 100 years ago, however, it hosted the busiest whaling operation in the world at the time, in two Norwegian-run whaling stations. Altogether some 5000+ whales were processed there in 12 years.
