Wolfe Island | The Ghost of Christmas Past
The Ghost of Christmas Past, aka Wolfe Islander III (WI-III), is seen here making crossings between Kingston and Wolfe Island in the calm but frigid artic air of a cold snap that swept the area a couple of days ago. Following a short, months-long retirement after 48 years of service, Old Faithful is back in service while GRACE, the new electric WI-IV ferry, is getting a very, very premature facelift at a drydock in Hamilton, Ontario.
Although the island residents and mainland commuters have had their resilience and patience tested by the circumstances, there nonetheless is dramatic beauty in watching the ferry crossings in inclement weather as in a several days ago in high wind as well as a couple of days ago (22 Dec 2024) when the temperature was -18°C (-23°C with windchill factor) causing columns of steam to rise from the surface of Lake Ontario, at times with the scene backlit with the rising sun, the latter failing to warm the air above -13°C for the entire day.

I think this is one of the best sub-themes ever. It has a unique look, lots of nice new parts, and an interesting storyline.
The Islander Inn, Ocean Isle Beach, NC hotel is located on the ocean,and includes rooms with beachfront views. The Islander Inn is located near Sunset and Holden beach.
A first trip to the Solomon Islands. A 3 1/2 day whirlwind tour but I had an absolutely awesome time! These are all straight out of the camera, but I plan to edit my photos so will probably replace these at a later date.

A photo of a photo on the small Tsayta terminal in Smithers, the frame left in Jul 2019 and is now with Lawrence Bay Aviation of La Ronge SK. I thought it was familiar and it is as it was at YVR when I first moved here with the horrific Regency Express.
