An island with a volcano that only exists in my imagination. I know, it's just a lotus leaf. 😉 (Best in Large)

A beautiful hazy morning on Ullswater, it was one of those morning when you can almost sense that something special is going to happen. I went to one of my usual spots on the shores of Ullswater, set my gear up and waited for things to happen. The first hint of colour started from the left gradually covering the clouds and sky with a stunning pastel orange glow. One of those morning when you realise why you get up early, and stand for a while waiting..

A lord of the castle near the lake had some of his subjects burned to death in a barn. He commented on their screams with the words: Do you hear the mice whimpering? He then had to flee to the island from a plague of mice. It was only when the mice had caught him on the island that the plague ended, hence the name Mouse Island

"In the distance, where the horizon straddles the sky and the sea, an island floats as if lifted from a dream.
The sky is blue, wide and generous, but the mist and low clouds embrace the island, giving it a touch of mystery. Below, the sea rises with a bold rhythm. Not violent, nor presumptuous, but unwavering. For those willing to follow the courage of the blue, to read the silence in the mist, the island and the danger awaits." -Millie Cruz©
It awaits, but you can't go there, it's closed for visitors! This photo was taken while on vacation, from a small moving boat. It's not very good, but I like it, and I'm sharing it along with a poetic narrative of how I see the moment. Yes, I've been writing prose lately, after so many years. I hope I'm not boring you!

Wizard Island was created after Mount Mazama erupted violently approximately 7,700 years ago, forming its caldera which now contains Crater Lake. Following the cataclysmic caldera-forming eruption, a series of smaller eruptions over the next several hundred years formed several cinder cones on the caldera floor. The highest of these cones, the only one to rise above the current lake level, is Wizard Island, which rises over 2,700 feet (820 m) above the lowest point on the caldera floor and the deepest point in the lake.

Wide angle framing of the White Island, often called the “Invisible Island” as it cannot be seen at high tide. A sandbank emerging during low tide in the Red Sea surrounded by pristine white sands, turquoise waters, and vibrant coral reefs.
Its untouched natural beauty, crystal-clear waters, and peaceful ambiance make it an ideal getaway for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and those simply wanting to unwind. One of the main attractions of White Island is its vibrant coral reefs. The underwater world surrounding the island is teeming with life, making it a top destination for snorkeling and diving.
