Here's the final Washi Lantern Installation, designed and created by RISD Wintersession 2011 Architectonics students with architect/instructor/design director Aki Ishida for Japan Society's Concert for Japan, a fundraising event for the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.

RaceFightClub was there with their F1 race car simulators. These are the same machines that pro F1 racers buy at home and use to practice in the races.

Ishida Dance "as long as there is in me" at the The Long Center for the Performing Arts Rollins Studio Theatre in Austin, Texas on January 14, 2025.

The line was long but the the race was really fun. I think I was on the machine longer than anyone else; not because I had special preference, but because I spun out and drove about 2 laps in the wrong direction without knowing it.

On July 21, 2016 at Jacaranda Library hosted "Wondrous Stories with Yasu Ishida," part of the summer Artists in the Libraries series. It was a fun-packed, high energy, laugh out loud show featuring awesome magic, incredible balloons, hilarious audience participation and lots of laughs!

 

The machines are gorgeous, would love to have one in my room but if I did, I wouldn't have much room for anything else. >_<

Left: Mr. Ishida who has well-known as a bamboo rod maker 'Kagerow Rod' in Japan. His rod is sold at some shops in the West Coast in the U.S.A. and I've heard that the reputation of his rod is good there.
