Would these verbal analogies ever provide a bridge for these two?

Abstract painter Mayumi Ishida’s prevailing aesthetic is layers of color and shape created with smushed and smeared acrylics and oils. Her synesthetic works evoke color in letters and sound, or sound and taste in color. Around 30 new works are on display .

" When look at the flow of the river, I can see various expressions of water, hear sounds."

This exhibition will present a two-dimensional work, drawings and original music focused on the expression of water.

*Jeux d’eau -- quoted from the a beautiful piece for solo piano by Maurice Ravel.

As the English states, Sangen-in was founded in 1589 by Ishida Mitsunari, Asano Yukinaga, and Mori Tadamasa (the younger brother of Mori Ranmaru). It's exciting to see connections between places you're visiting and famous figures such as Mitsunari. In fact, I realized today that really the main thing that makes me most excited to discover when visiting a temple is if it has some connection to a famous samurai, or if it holds famous artworks with which I'm familiar. Religious history in itself doesn't interest/excite me quite as much...

Shun'oku Sôen, the first abbot, instructed a number of famous figures in the way of Zen, including Hasegawa Tôhaku, Kobori Enshû, Furuta Oribe, and Tônai Kenchû.

Takuan, Sen Sôtan, and others also studied here, and the temple contains the graves of Shun'oku, Mitsunari, Tadamasa, Kenchû, and Oribe. (It would be cool to see these graves, but apparently there's no admittance to this sub-temple.)
