This sculpture was made by Isamu Noguchi who was a very famous sculptor.

A tower by Isamu Noguchi, from the '70s, in its 40s, at an intersection, with bollards, planter, boulder, in Detroit, in December, at 1:11pm. It's not supposed to be this sunny in Detroit in December.

In downtown Detroit on December 3rd, 2017, Pylon by Isamu Noguchi, in Hart Plaza, as viewed from the intersection of Jefferson Avenue (Highway M-10) and Woodward Avenue (Highway M-1).

The sculpture might be from 1973, 1974, or 1972-1979. People need to get their shit together and figure out when it's from.

Created by Isamu Noguchi. I have photographed this overdoor often over the years. I used to overhear tourists tsk-tsking and tut-tutting over the supposed homoerotic subject. I am glad that type of tourist seems to be more scarce nowadays.

Black Slide Mantra, Odori Park, Sapporo, Japan.

Probably one of the best features of the estate. Must be great for sunsets. The house is actually two miles from the Hudson, and the Rockefellers did not own all of the land between them and the river. The view is unspoiled because of strategically planted tall trees (and the Rockefellers did own a lot of the land between them and the river). The Rockefellers also bought 15 miles of river front on the other side of the Hudson (from the Cloisters in Manhattan up to Kykuit) so the view on the other side of the river would never be ruined by unsightly homes of other captains of industry. That's planning ahead. They donated the land to the state to build a parkway.

The stainless steel fountain is composed of two legs topped by a ring to the height of 30 feet above a circular, black granite pool.

The fountain has a very intricate and computerized lighting and nozzle functions, which can create countless different configurations. The configurations of the 300 nozzels, and the 300 lights during the night, are dependent upon temperature.

Noguchi's water-as-sculpture at Osaka Expo '70. My dad took this photo.

Isamu Noguchi designed this 60-ton stainless steel sculpture. It is 101-feet tall and marks the axis of Independence Mall and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. It is situated at 5th Street and Vine, in a vest-pocket park. The sculpture depicts a bolt of lighting, a kite, and a key at the base. ~ www.ushistory.org/franklin/philadelphia/lightning.htm
