For Macro Mondays - Line Symmetry
Ironing is probably my least favourite task but as I was ironing school uniforms this morning I saw my image for this week. This is the top 2 1/2 inches of the iron.
Amsterdam - Kerkstraat.
Fijnstrijkerij: old inscriptions show traces of the past. They tell us what was there twenty, fifty, a hundred years ago. They show something of the society of our parents and grandparents.
I had a fun time shooting Archie and Lindsay Noble, after the more traditional photo's we did something a little more fun.

Two speed lights, one at the left and one inside the cupboard door next to the oven vent (removed in post, using a second shot with the door shut).

Day of the Dead diorama, with polymer clay skeleton housewife, ironing while watching her favorite soap. A tribute to my mom.
4/52 - First big exploring road trip of the year and a last minute change of plan due to some info from a friend sees us abandon our original planed location up north for another day and head across to Wales instead to hit this one that's been on the list for some time.
This 110 bedroom, 365 room mansion is one of the largest surviving country mansions in Wales and has been abandoned since 2001 despite being auctioned several times. It has been coined with the name 'The Welsh Versailles', having been built inspired by a French Chateau and is rumoured to even once have a room dedicated to ironing the families newspapers!
After a muddy traipse through several farmers fields, the mansion finally became visible. After scaling a wall, this is the view that greeted us, I found it humorous how this small, tatty caravan was dwarfed by the end of the massive mansion!
This place is huge, photos do not do it justice! After a good walk round, despite having details of access, we were unable to find a way in, everything had been sealed! It seems whoever owns this, despite being happy to let it fall to ruin, does not want pesky photographers and the curious nosing around! We moved on after an hour or so.
This photo is part of a new series, the 1/52 challenge where I will aim to shoot, edit and share at least 1 photo every week ranging from explores, landscapes, street, macro, people and everything in between. There will be a variety of content though this will be aside my regular main urbex/architecture/land/sea/cityscape work. pictures from this series will normally be uploaded every Sat : )
