A little fun at the capital building of Wisconsin last night. First, I shot a proposal, then, on the way back to my vehicle I spotted this shot. What an amazing way to start the year off! The snowy weather really made for an amazing affect here!!

Ach ja, das Wetter und die Technik. Die zarten Schönwetterwolken hatten sich schon verzogen. Der Bildkontrast an dieser Stelle, mit dem Irix 11mm, ist zum Durchdrehen. Heute hatte ich endlich mal daran gedacht, die Gel-Filter auszupacken. Das ist eine fummelige Angelegenheit. Der ND16 / 4 Stopps Filter bringt bei Tageslicht leider nicht viel.
Am Ende gab es eine Belichtungsreihe aus 7 Aufnahmen, die mit Photomatix zu einem HDR-Foto zusammengerechnet wurden. Damit es schlimm aussieht, wurde das `Creative' Preset gewählt, und in DxO FilmPack wurde noch das `Old Postcard' Preset gewählt.
Fertig ist das Frust-Werk.

This is what the light painting stack looked like so I thought "why not go with it..?" that mad person running around in the foreground is me in case you hadn't guessed :-)

f/7.1 21mm (naturally). 30s for the sky and 80s for the foreground.
A few foreground frames at ISO800 and one sky frame at ISO3200, raw developed in DxO PhotoLab 6, stacked, masked and blended in Affinity Photo 2, colour graded in Color Efex Pro 5 and finished off back in PhotoLab.

Newcastle's treasured fountain in Civic Park was designed by Margel Hinder to commemorate the Bicentenary of Australia's East Coast being mapped by Capt. James Cook in 1770. It dominates Civic Park with views to City Hall. The building on the far right is St Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

Skies were dark and there's no moon around...soo it was time to go out and take some pictures of the amazing clear skies. I decided to light paint a little bit while I was at it too. :)
