These are not my cats, or my photo. The cats belong to some close relatives, one of whom took the photo and sent it to me. The b&w cat is very affectionate, and the other cats in the household love to cuddle with him.

Shows much better larger; press L.

For the Knights Templar to be buried in ‘The Round’ was the next best thing than to be buried ‘in’ Jerusalem.

The Round Church, Temple Church, Temple, London, UK. One of the most historic and beautiful churches in London and apparently the oldest gothic building in England. The Church was built by the Knights Templar, the order of crusading monks founded to protect pilgrims on their way to and from Jerusalem in the 12th century.

The Church is in two parts: the Round and the Chancel. The Round Church was consecrated in 1185 by the patriarch of Jerusalem. It was designed to recall the holiest place in the Crusaders’ world: the circular Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the supposed site of Jesus’ own burial. It’s situated ‘off street’ between Fleet Street and the River Thames, in an ‘oasis’ of ancient buildings, courtyards and gardens, including the Inner and Middle Temple.

It’s been a while since I’ve had an opportunity to visit a place of religious significance. It was unexpected too as the church is not open during the weekend normally, I was only expecting to view the exterior and get some initial feeling for the building. Some work was being carried out and the door was open so we walked in and had the place to ourselves.

This image is a result of combining 4 handheld landscape iPhone shots taken using the Zeiss ExoLens (Wide-Angle) add on lens, Shoulderpod S1 and a Hisy remote, subsequently stitched together in Photoshop using the Photomerge feature on MacBook Pro then religiously tickled in Snapseed on iPad Pro.

This is not my photo, but it's someone that I know, with one of her 5 cats, photographed by someone else. Pretty kitty!

...........................................................................................................................

P.S.: since many people have been looking at this photo, I thought that I would add some info. This is my sister-in-law. At the start of the year, they had 7 cats, but 2 of them died this year - one on the day that my brother passed away, which was a most strange coincidence. Now she has "only" 5 cats. This one is Chi-chi; she's the oldest. She was acquired as a kitten, feral, lived in a barn on the farm, and, for a long time, was so afraid and anti-social in the house that they thought they'd have to send her back. However, she suddenly "came around" and has been a wonderful pet, and very good with the small children too, which is not that common in cats.
