My favourite place, Salts' Mill where, in one of the big halls, Art and art materials for sale.

I have always loved shops that sell art materials, I adore the fragrance of oils and terms, brushes and paints.
There are far less now, begs the question: WHY?
Do people paint less? Less Art?
It can be such an essential and therapeutic part in ones life!
I've painted as long as I can remember.
I believe if you are a creative it is never just in one field...
There are also exhibition halls, with works of Hockney, the born in Bradford painter and graphic artist and partner in this venture.
Salt's Mill is massive and always a pleasure to visit.
Salts Mill is a former textile mill, in Saltaire, Bradford, West Yorkshire, England.
It was built by Sir Titus Salt in 1853.
The Mill and surrounding town of Saltaire was financed and built by the 19th century industrialist and philanthropist Sir Titus Salt after he observed other textile factories and was disappointed by the working conditions he saw there.
At the time mill working conditions were commonly poor, with most workers suffering disease, low wages and labour exploitation.
Dangerous machinery and long hours, sometimes exceeding 16 hour working days, resulted in frequent accidents.
Titus Salt acknowledged this and built a factory and surrounding town with which he intended to improve the working conditions for his employees.
He built schools, houses, and much more.
When completed, the mill was the largest industrial building in the world by total floor area.
The long south range consists of five storeys and a basement, and has large windows for extra light and ventilation.
Though not ornate, it is Italianate in style and impressively symmetrical.
