One of my first attempts of drawing a lady in digital art, done with Wacom Intuos 4
It's a bit of pin up
I recently acquired a Wacom Intuos Pro pen tablet. In the field of graphic arts, photo-editing and Headstone Element Digitization Work these tools far surpass quirky and inaccurate computer mouses.
I quickly decided to "rotate" the M-size tablet into vertical position and customized some buttons functions. A lot of learning is still ahead.
A quick sketch that I did of myself against a cloudy sky using my Wacom Intuos 6x8 digital pen tablet.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, which lasts until Easter. On this day, devout Western Christians (Catholics, Anglicans, Lutherans, Presbyterians and the like) line up to get their foreheads marked with blessed ashes by a priest, who utters, "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.", which is kind of a downer. Usually the priest just makes an ash cross with his finger, but sometimes they lean into it a bit much. 8.5 x 11 inches, digital.

I'm an image editor. Photoshop Artist. Call it, whatever you want, i've had a lot of different titles doing just one thing: retouching and editing photos using some kind of computer, some kind of Photoshop between Versions 6 and CS5 and some kind of Wacom Tablet, somewhere between Intuos2 and 4. But always Intuos!

My trusty old Microsoft Optical mouse went blind several weeks ago. I've been limping along with the mechanical mouse that originally came with my computer. Well, after several weeks of cleaning cat hair off mouse balls (hey, hey, this is serious!), it was time to take corrective action!
Off to Best Buy I went with the intent to buy a replacement optical mouse when what should I spy but a Wacom Intuos Pen Tablet. Never seeing a need for these before, I'd never really paid much attention to them but with my recent descent into the pits of digital photo manipulation, I feel the need......
There's going to be some learning for sure but from what I've seen so far, the mouse works great and there aren't any balls to clean!! The Pen part is REALLY cool and I can't wait to Photoshop with it!
Let's just say the cats are going to have to pay a little bit more now if they want to lounge arounge on my desk!
I'm back...
Hope all is well and that everyone had a good Christmas. I know I did...
{fun fact: The surface that the Intuos is on is actually the bottom of a black mouse pad! It had a very interesting and glossy surface that looked perfect for a product shoot}
I have no doubt that, for me, the best part of this project was watch Carmen's reaction after she realizes that we were throwing her a small party to say goodbye and also her reaction after receiving the card and realizing that it was herself drawn in that picture.
The fist pic she was screaming "It's me! Oh my God, It's me! It's so cool!!"
Made my day :)
