Baby let's cruise away from here

Don't be confused baby, the way is clear

And if you want it, you got it forever

Oh, this is not a one night stand baby

Let the music take your mind

And just release and you will find, baby

We're going to fly away

Glad you're going my way

I love it when we're cruisin' together

Music was made for love

Cruisin' is made for love

I love it when we're cruisin' together

Baby, tonight belongs to us

Everything's right, do what you must baby

And inch by inch we get closer and closer

Every little part of each other, oh baby, baby.....

"IN TUNE", art by Henk Schut.

IN TUNE is about finding a new balance between people and their environment by appealing to our hearing and listening abilities. Just like tuning a musical instrument, which requires the utmost listening and observation, we must continue to listen and tune in to our environment as humans.

I want to thank you all for supporting and encouraging my work! It has been very inspiring for me. I have family, a very busy work schedule and literally get exhausted at times. My photography is a release and keeps me going. It keeps me intune with nature and is a great reality check! This will be the last of the series....thanks again! Have a wonderful day!

A women who danced the entire Sue Palmer set, by herself, I believe. Over the years, I have noticed perhaps 8-10 individuals whose own internal partner keeps them in step and in sync.

We have a favorite spot where there is usually something of interest to shoot. I imagine most other photographers do too. In any case, a pair of swans like this spot as well but are usually too far away. This time they were close enough to catch in camera and it was interesting to watch how in tune they were. Never far away from each other, dipping their heads under water to feed at the same time - it was almost like watching synchronized swimming.

The grand piano in the drawing room at Carrick Hill, which I was informed is kept in tune, making my fingers itch to try it out.

She is a gift and so wonderfully intune with people of all class or gender.

She is a real breath of fresh air.

Let's hope more like her help make the future brighter for the coming generations.

One Divine Moment

Of this shade

We heard the birds

The leaves in the breeze

And waves as they played

And in one divine moment

We felt our hearts melt

Suddenly we knew

So I am currently at 243 followers. I've decided that for 250, I'll be hosting a contest!

Rules

The contest is simple, make 2-5 DC or Marvel minifigures if they received one of the 9 lantern rings.

The list, for those not as intune with Lantern lore, includes Green (Willpower), Yellow (Fear), Violet/Pink (Love), Red (Rage), Blue (Hope), Orange (Avarice), Indigo (Compassion), Black (Death), and White (Life).

This contest will also uphold a rule that if a character was previously a member of the lantern corps, (Flash being a Blue Lantern, Lex Luthor being an Orange Lantern, etc.) they can not be made in that color.

This contest allows customizing to an extent (no fully painted figures) and MecaBricks, but I will only allow official Lego pieces for anyone who does use Meca.

Entries must tag me and be added to the group that this photo is in!

End Date and Prize

So the end day for this contest is not set in stone. depending on when I officially hit 250, the contest will last a specific amount of time after. I will be flexible with the date.

The prizes for this contest are as follows

3rd Place: A shout-out (boring, I know)

2nd Place: A One-Shot written on something of your choosing.

1st Place: A $20 Amazon gift card.

Well, that's it. Good Luck for those who enter!

A couple more from my set with Elyse. Half of the photos have this darker, more intimate mood to them. The other half are in color and have a quite a bit of vibrance to them, but these black and whites are my favorites, what else is new.. My favorite thing about a good dancer and that they are so intuned to their body, that you never really run into the issue of their face having a completely separate expression from their body. Something a lot of photographers can run into.. You know, the girl who is pointed straight on at the camera in a bold stance, but her face looks like a frightened deer, or vice versa .

Can't stop thinking about this place, the Highlands...enjoy this video my flickr friends, enjoy the bagpipe & drums sound of Scotland!

Rowing. Seems sensual. By that I mean sensory rich. I watch the rowers glide on the river some mornings, from the river bank. Listen to them chatter. The pairs. (The teams just scream...the pairs actually sort of converse.) I have a feeling rowing is like running a little. More senses to monitor, maybe. But the rowers seems very intune with their balance, their speed, their rhythm, the depth of their oars. All these minute adjustments, in tandem.

Not man verses machine but Intune with the elements

Or maybe a berry. How much more intuned do you become when you have a camera in hand? A few years ago, I would not have noticed this emerging berry, but now feel I am more observant. Beauty, of course, is in the eye of the beholder.

The Olympics; A Place Like No Other

******

I have been working on a book project with the Olympic Peninsula as my subject matter (wow, imagine that!). In this book, one will find beautiful tributes from others, some poetry, a bit of historical writing and of course lots of photographs. My son Cole, has the back cover and five other photographs in the book!

I self published through Blurb and if you should get a moment, please drop in and have a look. Many thanks to the Flickr community for the positive comments on my photography during the last three years. Inspiration comes from many different styles of work, each is of great interest to me.

A preview of the book may be found here; www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/3003436

Comments from others regarding this book;

"I love this book. A wonderful time capsule commemorative work of art, photography and awe-inspired poetry, highlighting the Pacific Northwest. Real and breathtaking, as it captures heart and soul from its viewer".

----Cheryl P.

"I just finished reading your book for the first time and it was fantastic. I was moved. Partly because my friend did the book, but I love to hike and I am walking a spiritual path. It combined all of those".

----Bill S.

"Congratulations Lance! It's a beautiful piece of work. Your writing speaks of a grateful heart. May it reward you richly and leave an indelible imprint on many lives."

Shooting the Sydney Opera House is not very easy. In the sense, that, it is not very easy to get a unique perspective to it. Even more difficult is to get the Opera House and the 'Coathanger' in the same frame. I think this one comes close to how I would like to see them together.

While observing and documenting the behavior of Peregrine Falcons I also get to observe one of best surf spots on the planet. This is a winter swell right out in front of my post.

I was drawn to this candid snap when I saw the dachshund trotting along between the two older people. Then I noticed that both of the couple were leading with their right foot...

Today was lazy! I woke up, did hw/ napped /ate /watched tv /went on the computer, until 6 I went to target with my friend Heidi. I got this sports bra, a tshirt, and Valentine cards. Every year my parents bought my supplies to make my own instead, and so I feel weird having this cheap little paper cards with dumb cartoons and sayings on them now. Like I'm cheating.

>>>>>

But anyway I took this picture to focus on something else: FLAWS. Everyone has flaws as well as things they love about their body and personality! But it's only the personality we pick, and not our bodies. And I truley, actually, for real belive that everyone's _BODY_ is beatiful if they take care of it; hygiene, eat healthy, excersise, watch their face, etc. I think if you do that that, your beautiful. If everyone had thin legs, big boobs, was tall, long eye lashes and a small nose, ears that didnt poof out and teeth with no gaps, wouldnt we all be boring? People say "your gap makes you YOU" or whatever, but I wish people just knew that and didn't think of it in a negative way at all! I wish we didn't have to compare ourselves to eachother so much. I have, and I still do. One of my resolutions was to compare myself less, and I've really stuck with that so far. So I'm trying not to think of my "flaws" as flaws.

For example, this picture. I hate wearing sports bras because I have... very little to fill it? To phrase it like that. And I've always hated that! Other girls show off their cleavage, and the guys stare at it, girls brag about going up a size, they wear tight shirts, etc. I've always been self concious of it. But this picture shows I'm trying to change my outlook on that, there's nothing I can do about it, and if anything, it means I know that a guy will like my for my _personality_. Even celebrities like Kate Hudson share the same "flaw" as myself.

What's your "flaw"? What's something you love?

I love my stomach. I like my height, I'm 5' 7". I like how i see further into people, like I can pick up their feelings/thoughts easier. I feel intune with people. I like that I have found people I can tottaly be myself around- laughing til I pee, being so open; this shows I really don't have to change anything about myself.

An unusual "flaw" i love on other people is a gap in their front teeth. I find it adorable! If I had one, I would tottaly embrace that.

check out www.seventeen.com/health/tips/body-peace-pledge or many other websites if you feel self concious and have trouble getting over it.

Wow that was REALLY long. You don't have to read it all obviously but I'm intrested in knowing if you do.

and then i'm going to get a divorce within two hours...

but before the divorce i'm going to screw a stranger in the bathroom at the church...

before AND after the ceremony...

then i'm going to get married again after my divorce...

rinse and repeat...

i don't HAVE to love you to marry you...

or to divorce you...

i can stand up before family, god, the hobo down the street who mixes orange Fanta with his wine...

because i picked a boy...

but if i chose a girl...

and i wanted to spend my life with her

if i shared my heart with her, my love, my trust...

i couldn't stand up and do the same the way i could if she were a man...

does this not sound ridiculous?

gay marriage won't threaten straight marriage...

it won't make your love invalid the way you're trying to

you have the right to do as you please

so why can't anyone else?

oh that's right, it's a floodgate to worse things

because everyone will eventually want to will marry their brothers and sisters

the hot cousin

the family dog

there is no "sanctity" in marriage, because it's been abused for so long

it's just a pretty word used by ignorant breeders

thrown in and around when you want to deny someone the right to happiness...

people wonder why this means so much to me...why i care if gays marry...well, so many reasons come into play...

1. i believe no one has the right to dictate who you can marry as long as both partners are willing and of age...the government should never have a say in such things...

2. Christopher...he died at 17 because he believed he could never be tolerated in a world that denied gays such simple things as existing happily...but being gay should never be "tolerated", it should be accepted, just like everyone else...he wasn't different, he wasn't strange...he was just a boy who loved other boys and i loved him...

3. i loved a girl once...it wasn't a crush, i truly loved her as much as i could for a young and broken 15 year old...i ran away from abusive boyfriends and found her...she was gay, i was just me and still am...i like/love everyone...she was the first person to touch me tenderly...she was the first person to kiss me like i meant more that i'd thought i ever could...and even though it didn't work out, and my heart found Anthony, and i love him more than i ever thought i could, she still left me with the hope i could find love eventually...

so, don't tell me it doesn't matter, that a union is enough when you deserve more and the same as others...a long time ago my parents wouldn't have been allowed to get married...to this day we get glares...i was spit on as a kid for not being pure white, for not being pure mexican...

what i'm saying is (through my tired and Tylenol infested head) is that we need to change...we've come so far and November 4th proved that...no, it's not perfect...we'll still have struggles...but it won't happen if we sit back and do nothing, say nothing...

**for FGR's Fierce and Fabulous as well, because what's more fierce and fabulous than being intune with your inner gay side?**

Always fascinating how intune the animals are to impending threats. While the train was distant enough to both be out of sight and hearing range, the geese in the pond across the tracks were very agitated and honking and carrying on. the two on this side of the tracks felt compelled to try to out run the train and have not seen they safety manual about outrunning them. In the meantime A&R oblivious to the geese, backs toward the facilities near the river with a GP7 and GP18 shoving slowly.

Day 282 of my 365 project.

There is a two week arts festival in Truro at the moment. Yesterday I listened to the inTune ladies choir sing on Lemon Quay, and I also called in to see an exhibition of paintings based in and around Truro. One of the pictures really caught my eye, it is by a lady with the lovely name of Margaret Merry, and the picture is of Sunny Corner, as is mine today. You can see Margaret's beautiful watercolour by clicking the link below, then View by Artist on the left hand menu.
