"Kunst kann auf einer intuitiven Ebene verstanden werden, auch wenn man nichts darüber weiß. Wenn ich in ein Museum gehe, um Kunst zu betrachten, denke ich mir oft: Woher kommt das Gefühl? Hat der Künstler mit etwas gerungen? War er oder sie glücklich? Ich frage mich diese Fragen ebenfalls, wenn ich selbst künstlerisch tätig bin. Wie kann ich die Menschen emotional erreichen, nicht allein durch technisches Können? Es macht mich sehr glücklich, wenn ich das Gefühl erfassen kann, das ich übermitteln möchte, und es schaffe, es durch meine Kunstwerke hervorzurufen.“

Die Künstlerin verspannt Fäden in großen Räumen, was einen enormen Aufwand an Zeit und Arbeit bedeutet, tagelange Handarbeit mit vielen Helfern und Helferinnen. Bei einem Werk waren das zum Beispiel 800 km Wollfaden (La Sucrière, Lyon). Chiharu Shiota verbindet die Fäden so, dass ein loses, ungeordnetes Netz entsteht, an manchen Stellen dichter, an anderen lockerer, die Fäden verschränken und verknoten sich zu einem Gespinst. Wie Nervenbahnen eines menschlichen Gehirns oder Körpers. Manchmal spinnt sie getragene Schuhe, Betten, Kleider, Scheren und ab und zu auch sich selbst ein.

Happy Thursday, everyone! This week I felt so lucky to have the chance to go on an adventure with my beautiful friend, Harmony! I was puttering about on the farm when she called me and said, “Toss on a summery dress and bring the golden fluffster, we’re going exploring!”
And this is one of the countless things I love about Harmsz. While I’m very introvert, and I procrastinate and get lost in my own little world, over-thinking the silliest of things, Harmony is outgoing and vivacious and self assured and will take an idea and before you know it, will be off and running with it. We share a huge love for animals and the beauty of Mother Nature and of course wine! She is pure joy, and has an intuitive way of completely getting her friends. Thank you for being such an amazing with a capital A friend, Harmsz, and yay for us finally getting a photo together for the Flickr memory album! 💕🐶🍷

This door is among the oldest doors in Italy.
It dates back to 1520, when the house was built by the canon Miliani who then gave it to his family.
The wooden door, over the centuries, has lost inlays in which the contours of the figures of saints and an Annunciation were distinguished, today only intuitive.
Only the writing “Sigismundus” is clearly legible.
