Let me introduce you to another new discovery on the Paria Plateau I tentatively call Pseudo-Escalante. You're walking on a relatively flat prairie, when suddenly the ground in front of you has given way to a canyon that becomes hundreds of feet deep within a half mile. We'll look down into it next time. See details in the notes.
I think this canyon could make for quite an adventure hike with some challenging obstacles below. It's also another way to make it to the Lost City (see photos), although Tongue Valley (right, out of frame) is probably easier.

Persephone is newly identified female great white shark who was first documented at Isla de Guadalupe in September 2016.
Researchers have been working on identifying individual white sharks at the island since 2011 through a photo identification database.
Persephone is the 210 individual to be documented at the island.

Frodo started peeking out 2 days ago. Only at dawn & dusk when it was too dark to really get a photo. But on day 3 Frodo got brave enough to look out in mid-morning. As long as I didn't make quick movements or much noise, Frodo was not alarmed. Two squirrels fighting loudly near by finally sent Frodo out of sight. I hear baby screechies fledge about a week after they start peeking out. Mom & Dad were in the tree above, watching.

She was thankful for the phone thust into her hand and sat her drink down on the floor by her foot..... as she entered in her number under ' Aly S- Bitchcraft Supreme'. Handing the phone back she reached down for the drink and began to cautiously nurse the libation.... if she wrecked Daddys Maybach he would skin her alive. This little ray of light arrived November 19th after a very long and dark week for us. Her great grandmother, my mother, passed away this week and we had to travel to attend the funeral. Mom was buried on Thursday and my first grandchild was born on Friday. Unfortunately we were 14 hours away when she came into the world, but, got to see her the next day. I think she was 2 weeks early to help ease the pain of our loss. 27 hours old and has stolen our hearts!
Perhaps I can find a better name for her...but right now I was just happy

Bergvall is a male great white shark who was first identified last season (2017) at Isla de Guadalupe. He was one of the more curious sharks that I have encountered at Guadalupe so far this year.

This is my daughter Kristen and her flatmate Aidan's new friend, she is a cross Dingo and rotty. She is very soft , looks more like a dingo, She doesn't bark, she howls and she can jump 8ft from a sitting position, she is her baby! She was rescued form the animal shelter after being abandoned at 8 weeks already having been cruelly mistreated, she is now getting loved everyday!
I still can't bring myself to add a new puppy to my place yet, thoughts of Max are never too far away, miss him so much!

Yep! We have a new addition! This is Fable, an 8 week old Finnish Lapphund.
She is a firecracker!! Very outgoing, confident and playful! She will be making her debut in the show ring in a month or so and will be later trained up in flyball and agility.
We can't wait to see how our newest girl turns out!
