Close-up with promising buds.

I was given them by a company who wanted photographs, and they now keep flowering and re-flowering!

Orchids are truly flowers of superlatives.

No plant family has as many different flowers as the orchid family.

Orchids are among the most highly prized of ornamental plants.

In Mexico the flowers are used symbolically by the natives; each one conveys a sentiment associated with different ceremonies or religious figures.

From the time that orchids were first imported from the Bahamas to Britain (in the early 18th cent.) these flowers have been cultivated for their commercial value and have been successfully hybridised and variegated.

Hawaii has become a major centre for commercial orchid culture.

A species of the Vanilla genus of tropical America is important economically as the source of natural vanilla flavouring.

Have a sweet day and thank you for viewing, Magda (*_*)

Interpersonal knowledge in love and friendship.

When you both get a quiet time together and you exchange affectionate stares and touches. Love is within each others hearts and your souls are one. Others see you both together and sense that this is an affectionate time.

My favorite type of waterfall, the cascading steps creating a multitude of small waterfalls as this section of Laurel Fork Falls does. Although they can still be loud, usually a more rhythmic, more subtle tones rather than the pounding sounds of water crashing straight down...

"Subtle Intimacy: Here and There", a glass art installation by Japanese artist Rui Saski. Japanese Garden, Portland, Oregon

I love alternating between the geometrical drama of architecture with the amorphous and intricate majesty of landscapes and the intimacy of still life.

Shot with a 100mp Phase One Achromatic, processed with the Artisan Pro X panel. More info on my panel on my website.

We were given free reign with our cameras at a wedding in June and if there's anything I learned from photographing our daughter's wedding a few years ago, it was that catching intimate moments made for a more personalized album than the standard poses one usually expects. Technically, I missed this one as the camera focused on the groom`s elbow rather than the hands. That said, it spoke to me of the quiet intimacy between the bride and groom as they stood together while family members gave the requisite speeches and joked about each other`s quirks.

...When you look me in the eyes

And Tell me that you Love me...

Everything's alright,

When you are right here by my side. ....

When you look me in the eyes

I catch a glimpse of heaven..

I find my paradise when you look me in the eyes....

I think I have finally settled on a lens combo that works for me and I love having both, a ultra-wide zoom and a couple of primes for my mid range in my bag JUST for occasions as this.

There are some who might argue I was a little close (both for the snake's comfort as well as mine) here, but I had been watching them for half an hour before they curled up next to my wellied feet, so I just bent down to take this photo of a male and female adder prior to their mating and then very softly I retreated to leave them alone.

...the photographer, not the dragonflies, who seemed just fine with it.
