I wore this dress to a "second interview" on Friday. I hope I was impressive enough to seal the deal. At least they liked my pin-striped dress and shoes ;)

The Full Dollar project is a collaboration Departures, Outpost for Contemporary Art artist-in-residence Xavier Andrade and a team Occidental College media art students, who will examine the tradition of fine art and hand-painted signs in the north east neighborhood of Los Angeles, Highland Park. The project culminates in the fall with a revitalization effort to generate fixtures of artwork on select storefronts on York Boulevard led by Andrade’s Full Dollar Collection, five groups of sign painters, contemporary visual artists and business owners. As part of the visit, KRNV-TV stopped by for a short interview. That was the station that broadcast Whitney's appearance on "The Voice."

Well, I was interviewed last night by the guys over at LAMLradio... I haven't actually listened to my segment yet, still listening to the beginning discussing BrickCon... so I don't really know if I'm now advertising something I'm so ashamed of that I'll be forced to remove this image. :P

What I DO know is that I'm going to hate the interview of me because I hate the sound of my voice. I also know that the interview went ok, wished I had chosen a few different words as opposed to others, "public" speaking has never been my forte'. But... can't change that now...

Props to the LAMLradio guys for getting it turned around and online so darn quick.

UPDATE: I've now made it up to the point in the podcast where they called me to do the interview, about 24 minutes in. I've paused it there, and I can't quite bring myself to actually pressing "play" to continue... but I guess I can't do that forever...

UPDATE #2: Well, I found the gumption to press play and listen to my interview... wasn't nearly as bad as I thought I had done... in fact it wasn't bad at all. I didn't even totally hate my voice.

UPDATE #3: And I didn't even mention that I liked the rest of the podcast. Well done as always, guys.

Trish Levido and Zoe Dobson have been undertaking oral history interviews, for the Mosman Local Studies Collection, for a number of years.

They presented a demonstration of an oral history interview to show how simple, stress free and entertaining an interview can be for all those involved.

Part of the 2010 National Trust Heritage Festival at Mosman Library, 9-24 April 2010.

The theme of this year’s festival allows us to recognise the contributions local people have made in shaping their community. To this end a series of workshops have been devised – Stories to Tell – to facilitate the recording of ‘everyman’s life’.

Agents Bruce & Lindse are interviewed by some kids from Catholic University regarding the most recent mission, the 2010 No Pants Metro Ride... and we drop some hints about our next mission: Beat.

Mikey and I were interviewed for the Carbondale Nightlife...

We got real drunk the first time and most of our answers were nonsense. Aaron asked us if we'd do the interview again but not get so drunk.

The second time wasn't so good for Aaron either as all we wanted to talk about the second time was how much we liked Slayer and that we were going to spend all the money from the fanzine on drugs.

An NPR guy was interviewing people today at Copley

"I am much more comfortable now (getting out of my house and into my car) but it's still a challenge. It gets a little tiresome, hiding. It kind of weighs on your spirit in some respects. So sometimes I'll just make a run for it, for the car. I don't know how many times people have seen me or not. No one's ever said anything. Nothing's ever changed, so then it doesn't matter, right?

I try not to go places where I know people know me as a guy. But other than that, I just walk around. It's a big enough city that I don't usually run into people. I don't know that many people." - Claire Black (Janie)
