Lt. Governor Rutherford Attends Opioid Intervention Team by Joe Andrucyk at Governors Reception Room, 100 State Circle, Annapolis MD 21401
Stand for State promotes bystander intervention and its place in preventing sexual and relationship violence. Bystander intervention is based on the fact that people make decisions and continue behaviors based on the reactions they receive from others. Bystander intervention encourages others to intervene and promotes a sense of responsibility, which gives the bystander motivation to step in and take action to prevent sexual misconduct.
The Ungami, sometimes pronounced "Unjami," Matsuri or festival is held each August in tiny Shioya, part of the Ogimi Village governmental unit along Okinawa's northwestern coast.
Shioya is a beautiful little fishing village with a large back bay. This protected bay offers the locals a unique opportunity to hold boat races in traditional "sabani" boats, often used for "Hari" or dragon boat races. It is also one of the premire sites in Japan for sculling.
The festival is noted for it's prayer rituals. Prayers are primarily the duty of the women and every other year, they hold special "Women Only" prayer vigils in sacred groves.
But each and every year the festival is climaxed with a traditional Hari race. Unlike othher Hari races in Okinawa, in Shioya, at the finish line, the women will don traditional garb and enter the water to bang drums, dance and cheer on their favorite team of racers.
Before the boat races began, one of the teams took some time to ask for a little devine intervention. As with the traditions, they first faced the mountains and prayed, then turned around and faced the ocean and prayed some more.

HEALTHCARE FOR 100 MILLION CHILDREN
Intervention Track
Advances in science and technology are pushing medicine ever forward and saving countless lives. But far simpler care can save tens of millions more each year—if we can get it to where it’s needed most. Indeed, around the world, 400 million people— a large percentage of them children— still lack access to the most basic of health services. We’ll explore ways to get urgently-needed care to the next generation, including by training and deploying at scale community health workers who can help stave off persistent threats such as malnutrition and vaccine-preventable diseases.

As beginning of season, Alex Reynolds visited UHF to make a studio where we explore the creatives possibilities of sound to make our own sound interventions at the space. Like a movie. During four days we open our ears and sharpen our perception to see how the relationship between image and sound is able to make fictions at our enviroment, manipulate our bodys and change our image of reality.

This image marks the start of a series. I seek to explore the relationship between what we see and how it makes us feel. Mundane objects and scenes around us can spark of interesting conversations, discussion, feelings and emotions.
Through the exploration of simple images of everyday things I seek to understand what it is that makes me different from everyone else. What is my purpose and why am I here.
I kept the title that way because that is how the idea for the series came to me...almost like god spoke to me through divine intervention.
I tried to capture that feeling of dreaminess and the subconscious speaking to God by using the bright sun and the resulting flare.
I also took this image without looking through the viewfinder by holding the camera at my hip and just guessing the composition. I did this to symbolize the dreaminess and the subconscious.
