Durban-based artist-architect Doung Anwar Jahangeer is working around the clock to complete his sculpture(?) machine for living(?) before he leaves for Ethiopia on Sunday. at this stage, it consists of a series of interlocking frames - intended, Doung insists, to stimulate new perceptions of the city. Not just an ocular device, once completed, the installation will also be a home for Hillbrow street kids.

For the second intervention of their three-month residency as part of MOCA’s Engagement Party program, Slanguage presented Dislexicon: A Word Performance. The term “Dislexicon” combines “dyslexia,” a learning disorder marked by an impaired capacity to interpret spatial relationships, often resulting in severe reading disabilities, with “lexicon,” an inventory of meaningful units in a language. Through humor, poetry, text, video, and music, Dislexicon: A Word Performance examined the many facets of growing up in Los Angeles, metaphorically traversing the urban landscape to mine both its comedic and tragic elements. The performance featured poetic works by Slanguage members Karla Diaz and Raul “Spew” Vasquez.
PROT'ACTION is an action which wants to repair some of the evil inventions of human beings, prot'action, uses mud(soil) to cover barbed wire thorns, the earth as a symbolic protection for humans, as it is suppose to cooperate to our living, this interdipendency human have with nature cannot be broken if we still want to exist. And separating countries, beings from other beings, functions from other functions, making boundaries after boundary, will only create dinstinctive catastrophy. PROT'ACTION is an intervention of love.
My intervention was a spiral from the top of the lightdome to the rotunda floor, made from light fabric, its attached to a frame that is in the middle and spans out like an umbrella
In the axis it has a translucent cylinder in which the lights are placed an alternative to this would be a cylinder made from fiberoptics, to bring the light trough the spiral to the ground.

This is an example of just how prevalent Ebonics is today. Ebonics has become not just an oral and written social language, but has progressed as the main speaking language for many children. This picture is an example of a vocabulary book that is used for children at third- and fourth-grade reading levels. It is designed as an intervention program that will help improve the literacy and oral language skills of children who use African American Vernacular English or Ebonics.
