This photo was taken near Osman Sagar in Hyderabad, India. Its a great area if you want to spend some peaceful time with friends or family and the best time to visit is during the evening to view a splendid sunset.
The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program is a community partnership working with mental health consumers and family members.
The goal is to set a standard of excellence for our officers with respect to treatment of individuals with mental illness.
My daughter and I are just a little too much alike, which makes homework challenging sometimes. I lose my patience and become overbearing and she loses her confidence and shuts down. It's not good, and I do think I'm improving, but I need to get better.
I'm GRATEFUL that my husband knows just when to step in and take over (especially when I don't think I'm willing to give up). He can turn a difficult night of homework into the joy of learning it should be. He can do that in many situations, with many people. That's another thing I'm trying to learn from him.
I made this video as both a document of my everyday life and surroundings and as a dedication to the 70s. I used Adobe Premiere to edit the clips together and wanted the jukebox footage to act almost as the power source throughout, controlling what we see and when.

“This My Life. This My Art” is a celebration of identity through the lens of AFROFUTURISM. Produced over 15 weeks of workshops, and launching with identifying idols and capturing similarities to one another, the group used material from photography sessions to then work through a progression of visual disciplines in search of expressing their optimal future self. The art and the conversations reflect individuality, societal perceptions, and the future outlook of each self and of each other.

My good friend Cesar Millan joined me and the CA Latino Caucus at the League of California Cities 2010 Conference in San Diego. Cesar gave a great speech and the crowd loved him.

FLIP is founded upon a partnership between the City of Fontana Police Department, Fontana School Police, and Fontana Unified School District. FLIP is a 16-week leadership program that provides "at-risk" students ages 12-17 with services, resources and training to ensure they stay in school and out of trouble. Occasionally, I find a sign that really tickles my somewhat warped sense of humor. The sign in today's photo is one I've had my eye on for some time, and I decided to go with it today. In this age of instant communication, I find it amusing that any type of sprinkler and alarm system on a building would require human intervention in order to notify the police of fire departments when the alarm is triggered. There's a punch line to this one, however, that turns it into a jaw dropper. You see, this alarm and sign is on the 9-1-1 Emergency Communication building. Yes, fact truly is stranger than fiction!
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment and a sepia photo filter were added in PSE.
