Groenesteeg Cemetery lies on a small island surrounded by canals on the eastern end of Leiden. No famous poets or musicians lie buried under these gravestones, but "de Eere der Burgerij", the cream of early XIX century Leiden bourgeoisie: industrials, traders, administrators, explorers, scientists. So Dutch...

Yesterday, light was sharp and crystal clear, so I grabbed my camera and ran out to take some close shots of Groenesteeg's gravestones.

The blue hue on top of the rocks is not an edit, but I created it by swiping the blueish light beam of my flashlight across them while my camera was taking the shot.

And they say I'm the one who needs to be modest :p
