More than 500 military members from 10 nations have set up a tent city in Serbia’s Borovac Training Area, where they will live together during the Serbian-led Exercise Platinum Wolf 2018. Exercise Steadfast Jazz 2013 is taking place from 1-9 November in a number of Alliance nations including the Baltic States and Poland. We had a communications excercise this morning involving threats at various venues. Our mission was to establish communications support and interoperability between different agencies including FBI, Homeland Security, ATF, and local police, fire, and bomb units as well as link in the other incident locations. Basically, we give everyone the ability to talk to one another.
One component of the scenario was the requirement of mission critical equipment that needed to be on the scene as soon as possible. That's where me and Ivan got a ride from the US Park Police helicopter: Eagle 2. They picked us up in Gaithersburg and we were at our scene location within 10 minutes.

U.S. Marines provide suppressing fire for Philippine Marines May 9 at Crow Valley, Philippines as part of Balikatan 2014. Real Time Medical’s software solution, DiaShare™, was leveraged at the e-Health 2013 Interoperability Showcase.
Participation was in the COPD scenario which focused on a typical Radiology use case. The patient received an x-ray at a local facility, which was read by a remote radiologist, and then required immediate follow-up. DiaShare™ – which enables interoperability – received an order from a Merge RIS, moved images to a GE PACS viewer, and populated the study in the remote radiologist’s worklist for reporting. DiaShare™ then forwarded the HL7 report to the GE PACS before it was sent to a regional document repository.

Exercise Steadfast Jazz 2013 is taking place from 1-9 November in a number of Alliance nations including the Baltic States and Poland. The purpose of the exercise is to train and test the NATO Response Force, a highly ready and technologically advanced multinational force made up of land, air, maritime and special forces components that the Alliance can deploy quickly wherever needed. The Steadfast series of exercises are part of NATO’s efforts to maintain connected and interoperable forces at a high-level of readiness.
