Over 220 interns have assisted in the care of individuals with developmental disabilities at state-operated programs and developmental centers through the UYCP summer program. Health and Human Services Secretary Marylou Sudders was on hand to deliver remarks.

Joined the Department of Developmental Services as they congratulated their interns on the success of completing the internship program called the Urban Youth Collaborative. The Urban Youth Collaborative Program began in 1992. It was designed as a summer internship geared towards young adults with an interest in the field of developmental disabilities.

 

Special awards were handed out by Commissioner of DDS, Elin M. Howe and the interns got a chance to speak about their experience in the program as well.
