Intermediate Egret as seen in Sultanpur National Park, Haryana.
Sultanpur is 40 kms from Delhi and an weekend destination for NCR. There are lots of resident birds as well as amazing migratory birds in winter months.

Binomial nomenclature: Mesophoyx intermedia
Status: least concern, resident
Breeding resident found from lowlands to hills. Found solitary or in groups in mashes, paddyfields, tanks and lagoons.
Smaller than Great Egret with shorter bill and neck. Black gape-line doesn't extend beyond eye.
