Sportief en vrolijk. Dat waren de twee sleutelwoorden in het Programma van Eisen dat was opgesteld voor de nieuwbouw van de brede school Tuindorp in Wolvega. “Sportief, omdat sport en bewegen op deze school veel aandacht krijgen. Vrolijk met een kinderlijke maat, omdat het een toegankelijk gebouw moest worden.”
De rondgang door de nieuwe school toont niet alleen hoezeer de school erin is geslaagd haar wensen en ambities te verwezenlijken. Het laat ook zien hoe blij de gebruikers zijn met het gebouw. De directeur, de bestuurder, docenten, de mensen van de BSO: iedereen lacht en is enthousiast. De indeling van het gebouw is slim. Steeds groepen van twee lokalen en een buitenruimte. Dankzij grote dubbele deuren kan de buitenruimte eenvoudig bij de lokalen worden getrokken. Tussen iedere twee lokalen ligt een toiletgroep met een venster op de wastafel, een grote voorraadkast die van beide kanten geopend kan worden, een dubbele deur zodat één docent zo nodig in beide lokalen toezicht kan houden.
De kinderen gaan naar een duurzame brede school. De gemeente Weststellingwerf heeft een klimaatbeleidsplan vastgesteld, waarin duurzaamheid hoog in het vaandel staat. Dit project is uitgevoerd naar de maatstaven van dit beleidsplan. Voorafgaande aan het project hebben wij met Jorissen Simonetti architecten een energierapportage (energieneutraal bouwen) opgesteld. Vanuit dit rapport zijn de uitgangspunten installatietechnisch als budgettair vastgesteld.
De zon valt prachtig door de gekleurde ramen en toont de school op z’n fraaist. Vanaf de trap annex tribune kijk je uit over de grote centrale hal die dankzij een schuifwand kan worden uitgebreid met een speellokaal. “De bedoeling is dat deze ruimte in de toekomst ook door anderen kan worden gebruikt, “ vertelt Marjan. “Bijvoorbeeld voor activiteiten van de buurt.” De directeur is zichtbaar trots. En terecht. Wolvega is een prachtige basisschool rijker.
Toyota / Sustainable Retailing - 2010 / 2012
Space Projects were appointed by Toyota GB Plc to formulate a blueprint for their “Sustainable Retail Centres ‘” throughout the U.K. Being current brand guardians for Toyota GB Plc and having completed a successful roll out programme for 190 + sites, Space Projects are ideally placed to identify ‘eco technologies’ that will compliment and enhance the operational demands of Toyota Centres.
The study looked at every component and operation of a typical Toyota Centre to identify opportunities to minimize environmental impact through reducing energy use, generating energy, saving water, rainwater harvesting, recycling. In tandem with environmental benefits, the study demonstrated commercial benefits via life cycle cost savings for the Retail Centres.
The realization of these works will be translated into Toyota’s new showrooms during the in the first half of 2011.
Toyota Enfield is the manifestation, realisation and result of our study work.
