On Monday I had a monster day, and I knew I was going to struggle to get some quality photos so I snapped a quick photo in Lambeth North tube stop of the Emergency Intercom. For those of you that are keeping up with my 365 project it's a little strange that I've taken 3 photos of the last 6 or so of Elevators. Strange indeed, there's no rationale for it on my side.
I had a busy day, went to Reading to meet with one of our business partners, had a great lunch meeting and learned a lot about their business and some of the challenges they face, something that I always find interesting and that really drives me to learn more about business and my industry in particular.

it's especially reassuring to be in a subway station with no attendant, and then run across one of these little boxes tucked inside the flange of a beam.
so if you're assaulted on the platform, all you have to do is search around for the hidden callbox, and then hope it's actually operational, and then ask your attacker to wait while you explain the situation over what i'm sure is a crystal-clear intercom.

This speaker is actually mounted upside down, it is configured to be an under balcony speaker for a long retired sound system in an auditorium. My high school had these in many of the rooms as intercom speakers, however, they were mounted right side up.
