42202 has just arrived at SCT Logistics terminal in Laverton as 9791 from North Dynon with 5BM7's SCT loading from Brisbane.

For nearly 7 years, QR National, now Aurizon, operated a shuttle service from their North Dynon terminal to SCT Logistics at Laverton 6 days a week. The transfers were a mix of taking wagons to and from each depot to then be taken onto Brisbane or just light engine movements if there was no loading. However on the 21st of January, SCT Logistics hauled their first service from Laverton to Brisbane, no longer requiring Aurizon to transport wagons on their MB/BM7 services. The following week no more shuttle services occurred, bringing an end to nearly 7 years of operation.

Still painted in the Interail scheme it was repainted into in December 2004 when it was working in the East Coast of Australia, QR National loco, LQ3122 is between shunting moves in West Kalgoorlie on 16-6-09.

The loco would again be transferred and work in the eastern states once again before ending up being scrapped at Casino in New South Wales in 2016.

LQ3122 was originally L271, entering service with the WAGR in April 1969

LDP001 and LDP002 head up 3BM7 QRNational superfreighter through Yanderra. CLP10, G534 and G516 are dead attached behind the two LDP Class, having brought the train down from Brisbane that morning. The two LDP Class were attached in Broadmeadow Yard.

This was the first in-service run of LDP001 and LDP002, the first of a series of nine new locomotives on long term hire to QRNational from Locomotive Demand Power (Downer EDI) to replace the motley collection of older horsepower on their intermodal traffic. The LDP Class (and the 6000 Class GE units) successfully replaced the older members of the CLF, CLP, G and X Class on most mainline QRNational interstate freight.

This is a re-upload of an original. For some reason, Flickr wouldn't display the proper high-res version even replacing the original low-res version, so I've had to upload it as a new photo. So apologies if this seems familiar; it probably is.

LQ 3122 is seen out the back of the Goulburn Workshops area, which is now operated by CFCL Australia. LQ 3122 is one of three ex-WAGR L Class locomotives transferred from Western Australia to NSW for use on a contract between Glencore Grain Australia and QRNational to haul export grain from Southern/Western NSW to Port Kembla Inner Harbour. Unlike the other two L Class transferred, LQ 3122 still wears it's Interail livery from when it was first purchased by QRNational. Only the end of the short hood has been given the new logo, which can be seen here.

42302, 42303 and 42109 slowly ease out of Newstan Colliery with a loaded coal train bound for Vales Point (near Morisset). This Interail (QRNational) train ran multiple shuttles between the mine and the power station each day using former Queensland Rail coal hoppers and motive power (423 Class were rebuilt 1502 class using NSW 49 Class bogies).

LQ3121 entered service with Western Australian Government Railways as L265 in October 1968. In the late 1990's it was sold to ATN, Australian Transport Network and painted in the Maroon and Yellow scheme working grain trains between NSW and Victoria. It was later sold to RTS and painted in the Blue and white RTS scheme in April 2003. It was again sold to Interail and painted in the Interail scheme. It was renumbered in 2009 to LQ3121 and painted in the ARG scheme working in Western Australia.

On 17-10-09 LQ3121 was shunting in the yard at West Kalgoorlie
