Oh here we go... I picked out the best of the best. The ones that have spoken to me. The ones who I think are the best versions of each doll. It’s all about the face and the hair for me, and not necessarily the fashions. I told myself I would NEVER get any Poppy Parker or any of the Dynamite Girls… but I can’t help it! They’re irresistible! Most dolls from my selection are produced from 2009 to present. One from 2006 and a select few from 2008. I’d like to keep my collection as slim as possible, so any moment IT releases a version of one of the characters who is better than the previously released ones, one could get eliminated from the list. I am insane! I know.
Black&White means I have not acquired the doll yet, while Full Color means I have the doll in my collection or I pre-ordered the doll.

Integrity Toys seems to be set on mischievous track at the moment attempting to confuse collectors about dolls by creating versions that are like but not like other versions of characters. Take the recent London Show Nadja/Ayumi debate - does she doesn't she look like Ayumi? Does it even matter? Personally I love these cross-over references because it makes us look at the dolls in a different way and it is a clever way of refreshing and even challenging our assumptions about them.
As to Polarity and Like No Other, the immediate impact was that they seemed similar but I think in hand they will look very different. I'm really happy to have the gorgeous Polarity in my collection and I'm super excited about Like No Other Nadja joining soon!
I love Alysa in the Industry/TRUE line, so was intrigued by this sculpt being used by Jason Wu. It's a different version of the sculpt though. She reminds me a lot of Constance from the East 59th collection.

It’s that time of the year! Can you believe it? Time flies and here we are at it again. The Fashion Royalty Spring 2015 Collection is just around the corner. Last year’s Gloss Convention thrown in some hints that this year the collection will be inspired by the early 60s. So I’ve compiled some runway looks that I would love to see for the core eight Fashion Royalty dolls. Like the Upgrade Doll Aristocratic Agnes Von Weiss, who is part of the collection, I really want to see more prints on the fashion. I’ve noticed upon displaying my dolls, each one of them seemed monochromatic and I would love some texture and print on the fashions this time around. I want to see lace, sheer panels, fur and a little bit of leather. The 60s inspiration can really go either way. It can go from sophisticated and chic like Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear or it can go tongue-in-cheek like the looks from the Dsquared² Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear. They’ve also made references to Mad Men so I’m imagining we will be seeing pencil dresses and some late 50s/early 60s full skirts. I also want a hint of Mod, just a teeny weeny bit. I also can’t get past any Menswear inspirations so I think a Power Suit for one of the ladies would definitely fit the theme. In the past they’ve added some chic accessories and that could really make a period look very current and very now. I would love to see some sick shoes and handbags this year. New jewelry, hats and clutch purses. Last year the Safari Collection introduced a new pair of sunglasses. I’ve realized they weren’t the best pair IT has done. What I would love for them to do is give their Cateye sunglasses an upgrade and make them more contemporary. Maybe they could do some animal prints on them and make them look funky. They’ve never done that before. Fashion Royalty has done a lot of 60s inspiration in the past and this time I want to see variety in terms of hairstyle. When they did the Jet Set Collection it seemed like everyone had the same hair. I feel that a Collection is less successful once all of them look like each other. We need to see some range and diversity. With that being said, I’m looking forward to sit down and watch the Spring Unveiling with fun and excitement. I can’t wait to talk about it.
W Club webinar doll by Integrity Toys, arrived 12/21/2016. Yes, the body is a different color in the lighting in my office.
This little dress was my first 'test piece' or toile for my new basic sheath dress sloper (which is the basic shape for many different deisgns). This first version needed further tweaks but I still think it is cute and I love the print so Lilith had to model it - love this colour on her!
I have to admit I wasn’t up to opening this set but once I started taking all the items out it definitely changed my mood. The Mood Changers Poppy Parker Gift Set, the first W Club Exclusive of 2015, comes packed with a ton of goodies! The doll comes with three different heads, three outfits, two pantyhose, two jewelry sets, four pairs of interchangeable hands which one pair are painted “gloved” hands, two pairs of shoes and a clutch purse that actually goes perfectly well with the three outfits. Out of the three heads, the raven haired turned out to be my most favorite which is surprising as it was my least favorite from the promos. I’m also in love with the sea foam green outfit which turned out to be inspired from a 60s Space Age fashion.
The main selling point with this gift set is of course the ‘Quick Switch’ feature which allows easy head swapping. This is the second version of ‘Quick Switch’, the first version was from the Mommy Dearest set, and in my experience the heads do stay secure as you turn it from side to side and all around. I think this is such a great innovation and I want this feature for every IT doll that is being released and here’s why… After last year’s Convention I was on a beheading spree but little did I know I was actually doing something wrong. As I pulled the heads off after using a heating pad to soften them, I was leaving a mark on the side of their necks… it’s not a crack or anything but it’s a white line that forms as I pull the heads off and even after I realized what I was doing, some of them still get a mark on their neck even if I was being careful. So then I had to request Patient Care for upper torso replacements which turned out to be daunting after asking them multiple times. Another reason why I think ‘Quick Switch’ is a great idea is that this feature can actually save a lot of space! This set sort of solved my space issue with my Poppy Parkers. Also let’s say you have multiple versions of the same character and you’re the type of collector who does not display them all at once, you can use a single body then you can just switch heads in an instant to change the look of the doll which also leads to the idea of a gift set with a doll that comes with different versions of head sculpts and I think Adele, Vanessa and Veronique are great candidates for those dream sets. One issue that I found out with ‘Quick Switch’ though after comparing Mood Changers to a Poppy with a regular neck knob is that it can’t look down and I’m still trying to figure out why is that. Not an issue for me personally, but it’s definitely an issue to other collectors as that’s the one and only restriction that this feature has that I can think of at the moment. Back in 2013’s big body upgrade announcement, it was mentioned that all releases from Integrity Toys will have the ‘Quick Switch’ feature in the future and hopefully by then they already come up with Version 3.0 that has no movement restrictions. If the ‘Quick Switch’ system turned out to be unsuccessful then we can always have another alternative by utilizing the pull-apart system with the new bodies by pulling from the torso joint instead of pulling from the neck I guess. That reminded me of those Fashionistas Swappin' Style Barbies though.
The only gripe that I have with this set is that the red haired Poppy comes with a wonky eye and with that eye lash drooping just makes it worse. You see, I’m not lucky with my Poppys, after receiving Lotta Danger last year and Go See!, I sometimes feel like giving up. Good thing the other two heads look great. Also the pink dress came with sequins already falling off and the black pantyhose already came with pulls and runs. I just wish the factory workers could just realize that costumers are just going to complain and just going to send those items back… so why not consider a do over right then and there? Obviously that’s not how things go at the factory.
