Inside the Space Systems Design and Integration Facility (SSDIF) at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, the Roman Space Telescope's propulsion system is being positioned by engineers and technicians under the spacecraft bus, marking a crucial step in the telescope's construction.
The four tanks in the propulsion system are designed to hold nearly 300 gallons of hydrazine fuel, enabling the Roman Space Telescope to maneuver into orbit at Lagrange point 2 (L2) - a stable position 1.5 million miles from Earth. This substantial fuel capacity ensures the potential for over a decade of observations and support for its mission objectives.
The Roman Space Telescope is a NASA mission designed to explore dark energy, exoplanets, and infrared astrophysics.
Equipped with a powerful telescope and advanced instruments, it aims to unravel mysteries of the universe and expand our understanding of cosmic phenomena. Roman is scheduled to launch by May 2027.

Panelists will present on programs supporting the integration of FGM abandonment within sexual and reproductive health services, and initiatives to mobilize and increase the capacity of midwives and other frontline workers in FGM elimination and care for women who have undergone FGM.
Congressman Joseph Crowley will give introductory remarks.
